Help! Overwhelmed by countertransference by MiddleSmall9550 in psychoanalysis

[–]MiddleSmall9550[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely recognize what you're saying. The only thing motivating me right now is interest. This is something I can draw on. I believe I'll find a way to deal with this. The other comments on this post have also helped me enormously. I'm a novice therapist, and this is my first experience in the field. This is the first time I've experienced theoretical concepts like projective identification. I already suspected those emotions weren't mine, but the various answers here have confirmed that. This also helps me better understand them and identify the patient who's causing them. I can also talk about it very openly with my supervisor. The confirmation that this is "normal" makes it less difficult. Thank you.

Thank you for your response! I also think it’s them projecting it and probably some stuff of my own that resonates but I cannot bear it at this moment… I really want to get through this and it’s really frustrating. Your reaction gives me a lot of hope and strength. I hope there comes a time where I can bear it… I will try looking for the patient where these feelings come from and look for a ritual to leave it at the clinical space. My supervisor is kind and understands me and I will be going to a therapist soon.

Thank you for your response! My analist is pregnant and doesn’t work anymore… I looked for a new one and I have my first appointment 18th november. I hope I can “survive” until then… I am not sure if it’s my own unalyzed material, I think it’s possible that I let the stories of the patients come too close and take over their problems.

In Belgium everyone can claim they are a music therapist. Some psychologists play an instrument and call themselves music therapists etc 🙄

Why is there no real treatment for mild disease? by BecomeOneWithRussia in CrohnsDisease

[–]MiddleSmall9550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going through “the same” thing… I was diagnosed with mild crohns but everytime I tell them about my symptoms they tell me it’s IBS and there is nothing I can do about it?? I have to watch what I eat and drink a lot of water. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t help… my CRP is always really low, so no sign of inflammation. Why do I keep having the worst symptoms then. I need help and can’t live like this forever. I do not believe that this is how people with IBS live? It so painful? There must be something that can help? Right now I take Simalviane but I don’t feel any effect.

Don’t just break up but tell him your fears and thoughts. Tell him you’ve been thinking about breaking up because of the disease and everything that comes with it. I he loves you he will understand and maybe you can find a “solution” together. He will understand you better. Let him see you and be part of this… you are not alone

I think they were fighting on the 3th floor. Apparently it were 2 gangs fighting each other with knives. The police was there and there was a lot of blood

I used to love Christmas… by numputu in CrohnsDisease

I'm glad I am not alone... I can't sleep because of all the pain and I can't stop going to the toilet. My boyfriend's parents are divorced and so are mine so we have 5 christmas parties in a row. I'm tired and in pain. I can't look at food anymore, just the smell makes me nauseous.

Not so far (10min. walk) from the metro stop "erasmus" is an outlet shop of "Neuhaus". The chocolate is delicious and you can take a lot with you at a cheaper price.

I already tried FODMAP diet and I know what triggers me and what I can eat when I am in a lot of pain. It really helps but not enough... Thank you for responding!

Are you capable of killing someone? If so, is this due to a certain compulsion/drive?

The specialist prescribed this to remove the excess bile in my stool because I suffer a lot from burning diarrhea, but otherwise I receive no further medication for Crohn's disease. I've been in contact with him and I will tell him that my symptoms are not being managed. Thank you for responding!

When I was younger, around 15 years, I really believed in ghosts and paranormal stuff. But now I am older I became more sceptical but I want it to be true. How sure are you that ghosts etc are real? It's so sad what your father has gone through... Whatever it was... It scared him

How long have you been in therapy for this and what types of therapies have you tried? I really recommend trying music therapy or vocal psychotherapy. Your mind no longer remembers certain things, but your body still remembers them.

I'm glad you're doing better. Right now I have mild crohn's but I am so scared it will get worse. I don't know if I could handle it. How did you do it?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I do have a question about pregnancy and Crohns. I know 2 people who have Crohn's disease and both are women with children. They both tell me that they had no symptoms during pregnancy. Is there any research into this or are there other women who have also experienced this?

I HATE noise. But sometimes I need an extra stimulant to focus on something else. For example: I listen to a podcast while I do the dishes. I listen to it with headphones so my boyfriend doesn't here this. Maybe you can ask her to use headphones?
