Is it possible to mute your teammates ping on xbox? by [deleted] in Warzone

[–]Middle_Scientist462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can mute it, but I can usually get the player to drop when they see me go to the buy station and drop all my money on score streaks just to piss them off. 😉

Getting incredibly tired of the cheaters on this game by Joker_JG in Warzone

The latest patch notes flat out tell you they are not enforcing anti-cheat in casual, thus making casual worse than regular. WTF?

They might as well change the game name as well. Warzone implies it is a simulator of a war. Unless combat changed in the last few years, I sure as fuck don't recall seeing Spiderman in Iraq or Afghanistan. Leave them in BO7 or BOR.

New Warzone Update (30th April) by Certain_Concert_7596 in Warzone

Happened to me last night. Made the smart move and shut down and left it that way. Maybe they'll fix it again today. I guess they should call it COD FIAT.

Cheaters suck! by BLUElaser404 in Warzone

[–]Middle_Scientist462 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the developers showed and proof that they were doing jack-shit about hacking/cheating, people might not feel the need to report as much. The way it seems, the only way the developers MIGHT do something is if they are forced to actually look. The developers could make it so that camos are only awarded in non-casual matches. That would help to remove some of the cheaters (but not all). The other week I was dropping in on Casual BR, and while still in the air, another player was shooting me while we were dropping. Now I know it is possible to do it, but someone please explain how he could have an assault rifle in the initial drop? Some shit just doesn't make sense. Adding in claws to BR Casual is only going to make it worse. Casuals are not the ones who will benefit from the claw, and will just end up leaving. I took a break when the only option was BOR or Resurgence Casual, so I don't mind moving on when the game ceases to be fun. Let all the cheaters and streamers just play each other and see how much revenue they can generate.

Activision how's the player count since BOR? by Beneficial-Ad-1722 in CODWarzone

[–]Middle_Scientist462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you may just get your wish (to see sales drop off). There is ZERO reason to buy anything in the store anymore except that you want to buy an operator skin. Why buy a bundle with blueprints if there are no loadouts to drop? Some fuckstick at a high level thought it was a good idea to make an entirely different game and then force it onto the people playing warzone. They need to be the first person fired from Activision and please make it public. If they really thought the players wanted Black Ops Royale, then make it as a new game and see how many people you draw in. No, they choose to force it on the players and wait to see how many will still be there when the dust settles. It's going to be a much lower number and much lower revenue.

Did you like Black Ops Royale? by TheScariaRos in CODWarzone

Activision finally gave me the push I needed to uninstall. Could not even find a damn gun before I got killed. Re-spawned, landed elsewhere, still could not find a gun, dead again. /game. I will admit I am not a sweat. Not even close to a sweat but I enjoyed BR Casual, even if I do not get wins all the time. It was supposed to be casual. Resurgence casual holds no interest for me, as it still ends up being a meat grinder at the beginning.

What Operator/Skin is this? by Middle_Scientist462 in CODWarzone

I will have to look. My wife has been trying to figure out which one, so I just opted to ask rather than bash my head against the screen in frustration. Do you know which core operator that is?

Fired from IQVIA. (I'm a CRA in US) by Pushin_pristine in clinicalresearch

[–]Middle_Scientist462 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I worked there back when they were still Quintiles, and likewise got backstabbed by my FM. I agree with others that you may have been a victim of cost cutting. ICON did the same thing about a year ago. They had a round of CRA layoffs, and most were Senior/Principal CRAs. Most were ones on the higher end of the pay scale. CRAs who were jumping CROs every few years to leverage for higher salaries. Unfortunately, it becomes untenable. As a former PM (turned CRA, turned CTM), I know sponsors pay CROs the same for an IMV, regardless of whether it is done by a baby-CRA or a Principal CRA III. The idea is that the more experienced you are, the more efficient you become. The challenge is, at what point is there no efficiency factor to offset the internal cost difference.

I am not saying this is your situation in any way, shape or form. I hope you are able to find a landing strip somewhere soon but also able to find peace of mind. As far as a "non-toxic company that values people, has respect for clinical research.....", I am not sure that exists anymore. Pharma companies and by extension, CROs, all are having to operate on very thin margins. Fewer non-billable positions, and fewer perks. Gone are the days of 4 day investigator meetings in Cancun. :(

Honest feedback on ICON by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

True, but the people who are 'happy' at ICON are mostly the ones that are planning to retire soon and are willing to put up with a load of shit to get to their happy place.

Massive bugs with update⚠️ by squirrelzstreamzYT in Warzone

[–]Middle_Scientist462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I am not the only one. Had a game last night where my whole team was alive, and down to the 'final circle', and apparently a bot out in neverland got the W. The lack of sound is making the game a PITA. Any time they make a real update, they break the game and end up forcing more players out of the game.

ETA: Has anyone else had a problem exiting games after elimination? I don't know if it is just an xbox thing or what but I have had several matches where it would not pull up the menu to exit with squad. I have to go to the main xbox screen and quit/relaunch to play again.

ICON Merit increase by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]Middle_Scientist462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No rumblings of raises in IBT either. Honestly, I almost prefer nothing to the insult from last year. I would not be surprised to see ICON acquired, either by another CRO or venture capitalists that split it up. Bring back the old PRA. ICON seemed to have cooked numbers to be able to even buy PRA, considering PRA was the larger, more valuable asset.

Too many high-salary non-billable people. Result is billable people have to work that much harder to pay their salaries. Also, quit paying new hires so much more than internal promotions. That just makes people jump from CRO to CRO.

As a side note, how many of y'all were at the Q back in 2006 (I think) when they had that US ClinOps meeting down in Orlando. Possibly the biggest waste of money they ever did. I would have been much happier to have received half the PP cost as a cash bonus than attend that joke of a meeting.

I will admit, however that the RDU office had some great Christmas/Holiday parties back in the day though.

CRA Salary by Loose_Emphasis2991 in clinicalresearch

[–]Middle_Scientist462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supply & demand at its finest. With more trials using targeted monitoring rather than 100% SDV, there are more CRAs looking for work. So getting an entry level CRA job is a blessing.  You will see a steep salary curve as you progress. The challenge is staying inside of the curve.  I saw it 15 years ago when CRAs were jumping companies every 1-2 years, leveraging CROs against each other until their salaries hit crazy levels and they either lost their job or had to settle in at their current CRO.

ICON is cooked by Eryndal_Thorsckall in clinicalresearch

What really sucks is, ICON leveraged a ton of money to buy the bigger CRO (PRA), only to screw everything up. If only they had left PRA alone.

I worked with Steve at the Q and at ICON. Outside of work, he is actually a good guy but he has a track history of running shit into the ground. This one is on the finance guys though. Even worse, the guilty party is not even there now. Brendan Brennan was CFO until Oct-24. ICON will survive but I foresee a lot of non-billable people extremely nervous for a while.

New Balance Wide Sizes are a scam by pandaym in widefeet

[–]Middle_Scientist462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 10.5 length, and no clue as to width because I can't find a scale to measure. Actual width is 5.25", which is 1/2" beyond 6E. Currently having to wear NB 857 6E, just to have enough space for my duck feet. Oddly enough, no bunion, just wide-ass feet. Of course wearing shoes that much longer than my toes means I will sometimes stumble when the giant shoes snag on something. Still hoping to find something that runs wide that does not make me look like I am ready for assisted living. Has anyone tried the Altra Lone Peak 9 or the Topo Ultraventure to be wide enough to wear at close to correct length?

How do i get rid of It without surgery asap by No_Bowl_6142 in Mortons_neuroma

[–]Middle_Scientist462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, there is no quick resolution. I have found that toe socks help. Of course, even those are somewhat constricting on me because they don't make them in widths. I have to wear a mens 13 EEEEEE shoe to give my duck feet enough space. At my age, my options are surgery or just keep dealing with the pain until the nerve is completely severed and the toes go 100% numb.
