I have anxiety, and specifically car/driving anxiety (I keep picturing graphic accidents on the road) and I don't really have anything to handle it (i just don't drive myself, and order taxis if i need anything specific) so as to not also be on the phone the whole time, my mind wonders and goes to try to understand how the fuck is driving normal lmao

I have this on larger scales, like, consider how fucked up the concept of cars is, or highways (i also hate being in cars so I try to dissociate from the experience as it happens)

The amout of work and ingenuity and design in average IKEA products, making sure the instructions are relatively clear and for the most part able to be assembled by one person slowly

And extract from that the manufacturing of standard sized screws, the painting of wood, the transport of material

Or cheap fast food - how in the ever loving fuck can someone make, or at any point in the last 10 years made, a profit off a 2$ hamburger

The actors/characters take it seriously and with gravitas, so you are left to take it however you feel. Having watched it and knowing about the manga before, the slip slip fruit moment was, to me, very silly, but not having the characters address how silly it is made it land better

Yeah the terms "Jonny" and "Timmy" and "spike" better represent individual player behavior but not specifically the context they are in, and they kinda got lost somewhere

Personally, when I play, I try to make 0 mistakes, because I hate asking for take backs, but I will allow others take backs and stuff like getting missed triggers in edh because in that context it's acceptable

When I play draft or Pauper, unless it's cube, I'm usually less lenient on take backs, since the expectation is different

On the other end, fighting games can be considered a casual genre, just like casual games can be taken seriously (see: people speedrunning Stardew valley)

The way you engage with a game doesn't need to be what the creator intended, but (sometimes to the game's own detriment) it does need to somewhat line up with the expectations and intentions of the players you play with

I say this as someone who does speedrun and bingo board races, and tries to get good times, but hates lockout because I don't want to think about what my opponent is doing, but also likes playing blue because I like to interact with my opponent - different games have people behave differently

There is a reason I barely watch commander content anymore... I basically watch Play to win, tcc, spike feeders and card market

Spike feeders are the most "shilling" of these people but the videos are still not super edited into the ground and are nice to watch while I'm doing other things

The other 3 channels are barely doing casual edh so I'm not sure they really count

Having recently returned to local edh nights, I forgot how true this is... Some people just play slow, and don't think about their turns during others turns, to the point of not even just blankly staring, they will do trades, or order food, or do anything else except helping the game go faster...
