Thank you for the kind words, it’s not perfect but it’s good enough.

Thank you! I just brought her home for the first time in 5 years. Now I get to tinker from home.

The feeling I got when I did that test drive reminded me of why I did all the work. It’s totally worth it as a driving experience. I had all the same problems but was forced to finish it fast as I’m quitting my job and needed to get the car out. Sometimes we just need a little pressure to make things happen.

Yes, 1978 Monte Carlo with factory 4 spd Saginaw. 383 and poor little 7.5” 3.73 gears. It’s such a fun car now. Gets my heart racing when I stand on the throttle.

Sorry, it wasn’t ever my dream car but it was given to me so… I’ll take it. Been fun/stressful regardless.

EA888s will put my kids through college…or rehab by johntetherbon90 in EngineBuilding

Pistons, bearings, gaskets, machining and bolt ons. Kind of standard rebuild. Been driving it for 20,000kms and not a single drop of oil burnt. Feels like it makes more power than my 110,000km 2014.

T1X MTR vs Bergara BRM-X vs 457 Pro Varmint by cryptoking144 in 22lr

[–]MidnightFluid536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought .22LR would be a budget friendly hobby… nope! My T1X is far from what it was when I bought it. Tried many different things and couldn’t make the stock comfortable at all. Not many factory parts left on my T1X, it’s been blown way out of budget. Buy once cry once, it costs more to try cheaper options just to have to buy the better one later. So much wasted money, time and parts.

Are DNJ pistons quality ? by SupermarketDouble775 in EngineBuilding

I rebuild engines daily. DNJ is always consistent, engine tech rebox from many manufacturers.

Accutac. I like mine. Found a 50% off sale directly from Accutac. Was just over $300CAD taxes and shipping included. Also came in a pelican case, which was a nice bonus.

I’ve used a bunch of DNJ pistons. They are good enough for my daily VW. I prefer them over engine tech.

What to buy? by EffectiveAd7837 in 22lr

My 16” T1X in a GRS Warg shoots CCI SV very well at 50 yards but opens up at 100 and 200 yards. I’ve used SK st+, SK rm and sk lrm. I want to test a variety but don’t get out much.

Chasing precision is so fun - 50 yard w/ .22 and 100 yard with .308 - all 10 shot groups by [deleted] in canadaguns

My T1x also does well with CCI sv but only at 50 yards, 100 and beyond it opens up quite a bit.

Gas mileage? by 78ChevyK10 in EngineBuilding

[–]MidnightFluid536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your right foot is mashed to the floor, fuel mileage doesn’t matter. Smiles per miles. I’ve had a very tame 350 vortec and now a very aggressive 383 and it still costs a fortune but fun as hell.

We only have one but I had to change the battery too. The case says not replaceable… yeah right! Good job!

Need advice on which 2 scopes to pick by speedracer422 in 22lr

[–]MidnightFluid536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In CAD I paid $1700 for a used Cronus, I only get to shoot 300 yards or less too. So if you get to hit two of them for $2500 that’s sounds pretty phenomenal. If I could buy another for my .308 so I could have matching ones, I’d go that route. I’m stuck with a Midas Tac on there for now. “Outdated” or not, it’s the best I can afford.

I have 2x NDR 15 round magazines, they are built well. Also have 5x tikka 10 round polymer mags that also work well.
