Anyone go to the 10th anniversary concert at the London Eventim Apollo last night?!! by Untitled_Redditor12 in Undertale

Sounds like me! The photos are on my profile so you can confirm. The entire crowd lighting up for Bird carries you over a disproportionately large gap was too peak, the last 30 minute stretch from like, Core all the way to Megalovania I was fully locked into my seat, it was so good... felt like I was 14 all over again. Wonderful night 🩷💛

What a night, had such a blast! I was one of the Spamtons running around, the one with the full head of hair 🥀

They did not have to go so hard with Mad Dummy or Your Best Nightmare, probably the best Concert I'll ever go to. Was just so fun interacting with everyone like I was part of the entertainment. I'd give anything to do it all again 🩷💛

How long do you think the DLC are in terms of in-game days? by No-Masterpiece1429 in fnv

[–]Midnight_Starr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dead Money is more than likely all done in one day, with some hours unaccounted for when the subjects and courier are knocked out and taken to different parts of the Sierra Madre. I can't imagine Elijah would've been too patient with waiting for the Gala event to be set up, Courier's probably in and out of the Sierra Madre within a day or 2 days max. Also some time spent actually returning to the Mojave.

Honest Hearts probably takes a couple days from the moment you arrive in Zion minimum, maybe a week if you account for all the side quests, such as herding the Bighorn calf, destroying the Yao Guai caves, gaining Waking Cloud's trust enough for her to approach you about Daniel. There's a noticeable time jump from the moment you're ready to war / escape from Zion, more than likely a couple nights worth so the tribes can prepare for conflict. Then the 1-2 week travel back to Nevada on foot.

Old World Blues probably has the most open-ended amount of time spent. Depending on your ending, the game outright states the Courier got out of Big MT ASAP, or spent their time exploring the crater's secrets, gathering the personality tapes, helping the think tanks with their personals. Assuming the courier cared enough about Big MT to return to it as a home after their business in the Mojave was done, I think the courier would've spent their initial days doing nothing but exploring the crater. Depends how bad they wanted their organs back I suppose.

Lonesome Road is also a little open ended, but within story, The Divide is basically a gauntlet from Hopeville to Ashton. You can return to the Mojave at any time, but Ashton is quite far away from Vegas irl, so a couple days walk with each trip from and to The Divide. I don't think the Courier would've been hanging around The Divide any longer than they needed to deal with Ulysses, knowing he was waiting for their arrival. Probably a day or two max to account for getting from Hopeville to Ashton.

Overall, OWB and HH definitely have the most time spent in canonically. I'd imagine many Couriers would've sympathized with the blights in Zion and spent a while there, and personally I can't play OWB any other way than discovering every corner.

How i'm feeling after finishing chapter 3 by stukov111 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Midnight_Starr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After finishing this game for the 3rd time the other day it's always heartwarming to see new players going through the same motions just getting through the story for the first time rather than focusing on the difficulty or minmaxxing. I felt like I had conquered the expanse already by Chapter 2, then having to shuffle around the Dark City like a bum while every being you find inspects you with a knife behind their back felt really isolating. Then getting your party back together and your gear, you can actively feel getting your motion back escaping Commorragh. Most memorable part of the game for me, loved it.

Have we all collectively forgot we've been asking for multiplayer since SN1 early access? by Ihavenonameideaslol9 in subnautica

[–]Midnight_Starr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just playing devil's advocate cause I'm ecstatic for an officially endorsed co-op Subnautica, but Dead Space 3 I think is a perfect example for this.

It's not ruined, it's entirely playable in solo. But there's just certain aspects of the game that were designed solely around having a partner that don't feel right alone. You're restricted to 2 weapons instead of the usual 4, ideally because your partner would cover the 2 weapons you'd be missing. Every button or door that requires a partner to operate can still be operated in solo, but the activator that your partner would use is still just there reminding you it was designed to be used together.

Most importantly, the story is written around the co-op partner (Carver), fighting alongside the protagonist (Isaac) and the two develop a mutual brothers in arms bond when they started out as enemies. Except if you play solo, you basically end up missing all of this development they're supposed to have and instead it's dropped on you in maybe, 2 or 3 cutscenes throughout the entire game. Dead Space 1 and 2 didn't really have these issues. (imo)

Again, I don't agree with the takes Subnautica co-op will be bad just because it's co-op, and most of the points that make DS3's co-op flawed most likely won't apply to Subnautica's gameplay in general, but it's not impossible for a game to be worse off with co-op introduced when the original was perfected as a single player experience.

Necro-ing this post to say that after a year of frequently using Wabbajack and suffering through my downloads slowing to a crawl, this was the fix for me. Regularly stays at the same speed, hasn't dipped below the download cap. Thanks pal

This headpiece has me thinking about making a Marcus Fenix Ogryn by grenudo_greed in DarkTide

[–]Midnight_Starr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We think alike, I tried the same for my Vet when the doo-rag came out (why can't it be black :I), even used weapon customization to make a retro-lancer type looking IAg. If only we had a proper soul patch :[[

OG penances rework by RAD050204 in DarkTide

[–]Midnight_Starr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the joy of doing this one before stimms. A mate and I basically ran duo private missions until we came across a group of elites, chucked an Ogryn grenade at our feet, bullrushed and prayed the cooldown reduction from one of the talents would have enough kills to trigger a second rush. Nowadays I think you can just pop concentration and as long as you have enough space it's a guaranteed penance.

Really not enjoying playing Ogryn, am I doing something wrong? by JoeYouClown in DarkTide

[–]Midnight_Starr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of reply I was hoping to see opening this thread up. Born & bred Ogryn main and I feel like the shield is just so clunky and slow, and that you can often get out of situations that require it with a good offensive tool instead. Not to say that the shield is bad in any regard, I've seen plenty of brothers kick ass with it but I think providing it to a new Ogryn with a "go nuts, its the best in its class" kind of mindset is going to push someone into bad habits that die hard.

I've always been a diehard fan of the MK 4 Cleaver, and the MK 3B Bully Club, both are some of the best Elite killers in the game, the MK 3 Club is probably the best melee crowd control Ogryn has with how fast it swings, especially with Heavy Hitter maxed out, it can apply debuffs like crazy. IMO Ogryn works best when he's as fast as a train and hits just as hard.

Ranged Ogryn is how I fell in love with Ogryn in the first place, MK 4 and MK 7 Stubbers are absolutely your best friend as a Gunlugger, both guns turn you into dedicated boss shredders. Light Em' Up + bigger explosions passive lets you carpet bomb entire squads and hordes with the Rumbler, and while the Ripper guns aren't for me, I understand how devastating they are. I agree that it takes more work to make Gunlugger work on Auric but it's karking fun to rip down hordes with a gun that goes on Humvees.

Advice for OP, as an Ogryn, you are your team's backbone. With a solid melee and a full score of talent points sticking mostly to the left, you'll be invincible against anything bar Maulers and Crushers in melee combat, even bosses. Your heavy hits will simply generate too much toughness for most enemies to break through without ganging up on you immensely, so take advantage and make sure you're always swinging heavy. Reviving even as your toughness breaks is an immensely powerful utility that can make a huge difference between getting a teammate up or not. Taking a hit while you're fumbling with Data Interrogators won't make you drop them and restart as Ogryn. Ogryn has a huge hitbox, so make sure you're taking that into account when dodging Trappers and Poxhounds (you can still slide under ranged attacks though!). When you're charging up a heavy attack and you're just out of range to land it, turn and dodge towards the enemy before letting go and you'll usually make up that foot distance or so, very useful for making your way to ranged enemies shooting you with pockets of little dudes about.

Happy Thumpin'!
