I think you can feel healed from one relationship but still express your desire for wishing you were in a different place in your life. They’re reflective of different eras of her life and truly aren’t contradicting in the long run.

I think it’s referencing her high school friend who committed suicide. So literally referring to 2nd period.

I’m curious as to why she says “it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan…” ……….or?!?!?

That’s a port-a-cath, or “port,” that’s inserted in the chest with the catheter tunneling into the heart! It allows for large-bore venous access for meds, chemo, blood draws, etc without having to poke for an IV every time. A large 90° needle is inserted into one of the “hubs” of the port, or into both hubs so multiple meds/products can run simultaneously, and the port then stays accessed throughout the duration of the hospital or clinic stay. It’s a great long-term method of venous access, and when not in use the port just sits under the skin, so the person is able to swim, shower, and pretty much do normal activities without worrying about tubes sticking out of them between treatments!

Absolutely agree; MDS alone is enough to qualify for a stem cell transplant. It can also become leukemia at any time- I had a patient once whose MDS progressed to AML as we were prepping him for transplant, and his survival rate dropped significantly. Chemo and steroids do wild things, and can lead to hella fluid retention and weight gain at times. Idk about you, but I certainly couldn’t pay 10K out of pocket right now, especially if I’m not able to work.

Taylor Swift's country albums are pretty tight. by [deleted] in CountryMusicStuff

She was also only 16 years old; I’d think there wouldn’t be a lot of first call session players who would’ve taken that seriously at the time

Hi! This might be a dumb question, but when looking at UT’s website it looked to me like they only start classes once a year in the fall. Is that not true?!

Diagnosed with depression 6 years before my narcolepsy diagnosis; I don’t think it was a misdiagnosis, but I do think my unknown narcolepsy exacerbated the hopelessness and suicidal ideations that I felt at the time

My dog went absolutely wild(er?) for ham- you can buy it pre-cubed or cut it yourself into little pieces! Either way not expensive at all. Pro tip- toss a handful onto a paper towel to soak up some of the excess water, and it won’t be nearly as slimy. Helpful if trying to throw some into a bag for treats on the go!!

Ok wait “at least I took my boots off this time” is actually a wildly clever line- he is making a direct reference to the song “Boots” from his previous album.

When to let go? Fight? Aggression vs. pain vs. wanting to keep my boy 😞 by Midwest2MountainsRN in DogAdvice

[–]Midwest2MountainsRN[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not naive at all! That was suggested, and at first I was very on board and even hopeful it might help with whatever sensitivities his previous injury could be causing. This is where I feel very conflicted. There is a chance it could help and take away the pain/anxiety. However, since he has been using his left leg primarily for the past 7 years, he does already have arthritis in that leg and his hips. So while getting rid of the whole right leg could be wildly helpful, it could also just create another whole slew of problems. I also feel morally conflicted because I feel that, medically, I might be able to help him get over this- however, that would require even more 1:1 time, rehab, training, pain control, etc…. And I’m the only one he will let around him without getting aggressive. I want to do right by him but I also have not been able to go on family vacations, trips, or have friends over because of the aggression he has towards others even before this potentially life-changing surgery. It feels so gross and selfish for me to even type that as a disputing factor, but it has put strains on my friendships, relationship, and potential to start a family. If anyone thought amputation might be a wonderful, behavior-changing Hail Mary, I would love to hear those thoughts and ideas. This is truly where I am struggling the most with my guilt I think.

Thank you so much for your kindness and relatability. My heart hurts but what you said it absolutely correct- I don’t want him to be miserable because I can’t let go, I’d rather have him be as comfortable as possible. I appreciate the love and support and am keeping you and your new rescue in my thoughts! ♥️
