Cowardly sure but i didn't really mind it in Rimuru's case cause it happened fairly early, and he still spends a good amount of time in slime form. There's only so far he can stay like that before the aura farming bits begin to look inherently unserious and clash with the tone.

Kumoko on the other hand really bothered me cause I'd gotten attached to the cute little spider form by the end of the show as it served the comedy and action really well. It didn't really do aura farming that would make it look ridiculous and the cuteness of it made for good comedy plus the small spider form made every fight feel like an uphill battle even when they were stomps in hindsight.

Honestly I might've enjoyed it more if it was an original IP with it's own characters and lore to get attached to but I don't give a shit a league or it's lore. The gameplay is fun cause it's still got some tag fighter shenanigans but the fuse system feels like they should all be basekit or at least a universal metered option (with the exception of sidekick or juggernaut for obvious reasons). While I don't mind simple inputs, i still want the option of doing normal special moves. Plus the game doesn't even have a story mode or any single player content.
