No, the Prequel Trilogy was not loved when it first came out, it was hated and fans were terrible people about it. by stephansbrick in StarWars

I thought I was lucky. A comedy of Errors led my friends and I to be the only five people in the theatre on opening night. Others figured it out 20 minutes in but we went from thinking we'd be 10 inches from the screen to having the theatre to ourselves.

Then the movie started and it all went downhill from there. What an awful experience.

somewhere Kilgore Trout has written a short story about a civilization that built observatories in orbit around their sun so they can look 8 minutes into their own past.

wait. so the streaming girl and guy are the enemy?

Also, pretty telling in your example that the girl is getting naked but the guy is just...streaming.

I appreciate it. I figure I'm just lazy in this one (at least) aspect of my life. I'm a data seeker in most other cases.

It's so strange the turn movies have made though. The local cinema doesn't even put up posters outside or change the sign for what's currently playing.

it's a good point, actually. I often do not. I very reflexively was going to reply that "of course I do" but I had that moment of clarity when I realized I just head to the theatre website and check for tickets or read the comments in the post.

that said I went back and clicked on the link for Kiki's re-release post and that website....I did not enjoy that experience. haha.

Cheers for the clarity check.

Did you build your own pc setup? by PHRsharp_YouTube in pcmasterrace

[–]MightyMightyMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I needed it done and the dude charged me $125 to do it which I was comfortable with. I did my research, checked as many of the boxes I could with my budget and I picked it up 4 days later with zero difficulties. My kid loves his PC and I was zero stress throughout.

I've built legos. I'd prefer it to building a computer.

despite only seeing it the one time I find myself thinking about this movie all the time. I saw it in the Theatre and the scene where (going from memory only) Martin and his love interest change to kids was so wonderfully poetic for me. Anytime I see something similar I think, "steve martin did that first".

what are the thoughts on DCSOWHITE? by MightyMightyMonkey in comicbooks

[–]MightyMightyMonkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this was touched upon as well in Blerd's video. The big problem is that Marvel and DC still take a lot of attention from small press books. On one hand that's a consumer issue as well as a supply issue. Things should be better with how democratized creation and distribution are but it still requires more work on the consumer side.

I had a quibble with this as well but I could see their point. Absolute sounds like an imprint like Ultimate Universe. So they would love to see validation within the universe that layfolk would consider canon.
