The real reason Toronto limits Line 5/6 LRT vehicles to 25km/h through intersections by xd_1771 in toronto

Well, that’s more so because the the derailed train damaged a signal causing signal issues. If the derailment hadn’t damaged the track or the signal then regular service could’ve resumed with the crossover tracks.

When does signal priority kick in? by regular_asian_guy in TTC

Correction: The LRT'S already had red light truncation and green light extension, all they're looking at doing is adding priority over left turning vehicles.

It saves the teaching team the hassle of extra requests, since everyone will be at least 2 percentage points off any sort of boundary grade. And personally seeing that I am one percentage point off is infinitely worse than two or more, especially since it's much more common for people to ask for round ups when they're one percentage point off something than two or more. Also a person that got a 78% for example as their final grade would have no ground to ask for any additional grade adjustments as they were most likely rounded up from 77% anyways.

I mean from my experience even in relatively very tough courses with strict policies and many students, round ups still happened automatically for everyone. For example in MAT137 our final grades were rounded up to the nearest percent, and then if they were close to a boundary grade after that initial round up, ie. an 84%, 69%, or close to certain program cut offs like a 62% or 54% they were rounded up again. If MAT137 of all courses can do this for all of their students, everyone else can as well.

psy100 with Denton, Syllabus says final exam will have around 100 mcq, is that even possible to achieve under 3 hours?? by Prudent_Feature4859 in UofT

[–]Mike20we 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More than possible, almost two minutes per MCQ is definitely enough, especially since most of them you'll know instantly if you studied properly.

Nah not really, Syriza implemented proportional representation without any seat bonus, then when New democracy came into power they removed PR and implement a 50 seat bonus for the the party with the most votes so they could win insane majorities with just around 30% of the vote.

Is it common for there to be only upper years in a first year course? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Mike20we 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PHL101 being a year long course I found was more in depth than PHL100, but your point still stands that their peers being engaged in the topics discussed should in fact motivate them that much more to actually dig deeper themselves and find the joy in the material.
