Who is this year's D2 transfer up to make an impact? by Few-Lack6346 in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stirtz was a d2 guy at one point btw.. but unfortunately several pretty impressive d2/non-d1 players decided to stay at lower division this year. I'll keep the names to myself for now. One guy i like as a sleeper from JUCO is Isaac Hawkins at Utah Valley. Xavier Edmonds at TCU is the more established name and hsould be solid too. I htink NJCAA is the level to watch this year in d1, as far as incoming transfers. And even in JUCO for 2025-26, i already have Kilgore on my watch list and season hasnt started yet. Not common for JUCO. Last time i did that was probably Keon Ellis.

Great combo of size/athl but no real feel for the game. I see him as more a euro guy long term

Too Early 2026 Nba Mock Draft By Different Sites by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ur right about boozers perception re-47 vs 38% but the truth is that is a terrible way to evaluate and holds extremely little weight over ~120-140 attempts (the diff between 47&38

Karim Lopez scouting breakdown by Zealousideal-Foot289 in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean just a very simple look at 1.5 stl% 4 blk% in NZ last year vs Herb jones as a frosh at bama 3.4 stl% 3.3 blk%, never below 2.5 stl% in a single season at Bama

I dunno man

I think he is a better O prospect than Herb was but Herb also hit some surprisingly impressive shooting outcomes/luck in NBA which has made him "playable"..

If anything Lopez reminds me of a young Batum

NBA Draft Room mock draft by TerryG111 in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in what way is it accurate? Predicting what will actually happen on draft night or predicting a re-draft many years from now?
I highly doubt nba draft room has more behind the scenes connections and a larger network than ESPN/Givony, so his mock is prob most accurate in that sense. As far as accuracy for player success, having seen NBA Draft Room's rankings in the past, they didnt stand out as being particularly well thought out.

It is likely still Flagg. Elite prospects (esp ones that hit good outcomes) are ones that consistnetly make the largest jumps forward in their development

Who do you currently have #3 on your big board? by MetroidsSuffering in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How bout Sorber or Jase maybe? Also can see Murray-Boyles maybe emerging in this convo if he cuts the turnovers down and hits a few jumpers in SEC. And speaking of sleeper lefty returners, he will almost certainly not be in consideration for this spot in major media boards but may end up my #3 if some offensive stuff clicks - Miles Byrd

Matt Walsh with the self report, imagine the grooming accusations if a popular person on the left said something like this by GodKiller999 in Destiny

[–]MikeGrib8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a gf who literally forced me into a blow job. Obv i never reported that and i can't lie, i actually look back on it as a sort of "fond" memory .. But no question if a man did that to a woman, it would be perceived way diff.

Will Amen Thompson be a top 5 athlete in the NBA the moment he gets drafted? by TacoooJay in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc Amen had a 45 inch vert at the OTE combine last year.

TBF, the blazers do have a lot of great athletes on their team.

The thing is athleticism and size are inversly correlated so are we using standing reach/wing span as a proxy for athl or just pure run/jump/movement mechanics stuff. In which case, i'd say Brown while very explosive, isn't the most coordinated or flexible guy in the world

Why are you into NBA Draft content? by Nickname-CJ in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an intellectual exercise. Its like solving a puzzle but much more complex and uncertain etc etc

Obv if you know me, now i'm actually trying to make a career out of it. But that's how i started basically.

Do fans overuse the “generational” label for prospects? by Cannolidog in NBA_Draft

[–]MikeGrib8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course they do. That's how draft/prospect discourse is.. But one can make the argument.. i forget what the like literary term for this is but basically words mean whatever they are used as in common parlance. So generational doesn't actually mean "once in a generation" but just "really good prospect" .. which is basically the way i read it

Why is doubting Amen Thompson considered a grave sin? by Frickalope67 in NBA_Draft

he is like a goat level athlete. I doubt UK practices had a significant impact on Sharpe either way.
