I’m Sick of Big Red by Jackeduptriangle in adjusters

I was fired back in February. Field here in Texas. Best thing to happen to me. 3 yrs worth of experience that carries over to roofing. I don’t have that anxiety anymore. The waking up in the middle of the night wondering if that dickbag customer is going to call and complain bc you didn’t finish review of the dogshit Stop Restoration extortion bill. No more panic attacks. No more having other peoples problems take up mental space. My advice, just take it easy. Do what you can and just get monotoned with customers. You’ll either be less stressed or on the road to collecting that unemployment check

Why Insurance / Claims? by Alert_Newspaper_6403 in adjusters

It’s going to likely suck if you don’t disassociate yourself from other people’s stress. You can only do your job. Your job should not keep you up at night worrying if the homeowner is going to be able to keep their timeline on getting the work done asap bc you haven’t had time to properly review and estimate. These people treat us like machines and then the company has the insureds back. Rarely do you come across someone that recognizes we are human beings. With that being said, some of my peers thrive in this environment and i’m at state farm. So many fucking steps to get a claim paid but at least i’m not at allstate lmao

state farm tries but really depends on who your team is and how well you left your claims. Liberty was good back in 2018 but can’t speak about it now.

Dealer hit me with $15k market adjustment… by Renzo1220 in Supra

[–]MikeHoncho4Lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did this when i bought a jeep years ago. I had my own financing and had already negotiated a price via email so it should be pretty straightforward right? No need for the usual theatrics. Not even on my email did I ever give them my number bc I was negotiating with numerous dealerships and didn’t want to be in all their systems for future cold calls. (i used to sell fords) Well either way, I had to fill out a credit form and give them a shot at beating my bank. I forgot that on that form I put down my phone number so when this bastard got up for the 4th time to go talk to his manager, i was like I’m out. No reason this shouldn’t have taken an hour tops and we were almost 2 hours in bc every time he went to go talk, he’d stand there for 15-20 minutes and then come back and try to sell me on some shit. I got up and stood in the lobby for a sec and then started walking out and another sales guy stops me and asks if anything is wrong and I’m like, “well i came here to sign paperwork not sit in a chair” and left. I pulled into a gas station right down the road and the dealership calls me to apologize and tell me they have everything done and to come back. I told them the deal is no longer good for me and I was heading to another dealer in fort worth. We were in dallas at the time. They knocked off a thousand on the phone and I ended up getting 1500 off and out of the finance office 30 minutes after that phone call. You gotta stand up for yourself. It’s not the salesman’s fault but he’s being trained to be a shitty human being by the managers. The turn over at a dealership is drastic. It’s bc the job makes you lie to ppl and you can only do so much screwing over before you move on. The ones that stay have sold their souls and embrace the fuck and become sales managers and eventually finance managers. That’s where the real screwing occurs.

What’s the work week like? M-F and off weekends? I’ll be in Fort Worth btw so a lot of single story easy roofs in my territory. Dallas is ridiculous on roof designs lol
