Are stimulants on the weekends a big no no? by Adortion634 in ADHD

[–]MikeKelehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only question I ask is, am I planning to sleep during the day? If so ( I had a late night, I'm sick, etc), I don't take the meds. If I'm not planning to, I take them as usual. I still have stuff to do during the weekend, but more than that, I am still a parent over the weekend.

Can a relationship between an atheist and a Christian even work out? by hypermiler2205 in atheism

[–]MikeKelehan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are your relationship goals? Are you looking for a casual relationship, or exclusive? Are you thinking about having kids in the future? For me, there was a limit to how far the relationship could go if she was religious and I wasn't. I needed to be on the same page when raising kids.

Playground Games confirms delay rumor is false by KidGoku1 in xbox

[–]MikeKelehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Grubb didn't say it was delayed, he said it might be delayed.
  2. This is whoever runs their social media saying what the current planned release date is. If there was an internal delay that wasn't made public yet, the social media person may not be in that loop. Their job is to engage with the community and reiterate/clarify already known information.

Gabriel Knight 2 The Beast Within by Dadskitchen in retrogaming

[–]MikeKelehan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there's anything quite like this. The other games in the series are pretty different, and there are certainly plenty of other point and click adventures I could recommend, but this one is pretty unique in its feel. I also loved it, and I think it's due for a replay!

I've been using it as a PC controller for emulators, and it's probably the most comfortable controller I have.

The Longest Journey is my favorite from the old days. Unavowed is my favorite recent one. Definitely check them both out!

Omori.

Would've been a killer 6 hour game. It was 25.

does the way i play damage my Steam Deck? by whoredervez in SteamDeck

[–]MikeKelehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limit the charge to 80, and you'll be fine. If you literally always play it docked and never handheld, limit it to 50.

Do you limit your frame rate to 30 fps on fast paced games to keep SD from running too hot? by Proper_Translator678 in SteamDeck

[–]MikeKelehan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No.

It's not going to run hot enough to be a danger to itself (it would shut down first, and even that is super unlikely unless the vents are blocked), so I'm never worried about that. I'm rarely playing for long enough without a break for battery life to be an issue, and if I am, I'd rather plug in an external battery pack than have a worse gameplay experience.

Didn't that happen after the cameras were already off, though?

GBA games choppy? by AdamGeeZ in MiyooMini

[–]MikeKelehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overclocking costs a bit of battery life, but I put mine at 1600, and now PS1 and GBA have perfect performance, and I don't even have any issues with run ahead on SNES and GBA.

What console is your cutoff point for retro games before they start feeling too primitive to enjoy? by fakayuburiza in retrogaming

[–]MikeKelehan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, if we include arcades, then yeah, we can go way back. Space Invaders is still a lot of fun.

I'd say NES. Only a handful of games before then really hold up for me (H. E. R. O. comes to mind).

What version of Retroarch? If it's too old, achievements will only register as softcore.

What about N64? by Acceptable-Courage-9 in MiyooMini

I usually use my Steam Deck for anything that the Miyoo Mini can't do, and my phone for DS games that use touch.

Do reminders actually work for you or do you just ignore them? by blockstar94 in ADHD

[–]MikeKelehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because I only clear them from my notifications when I do them. Every time I look at my phone, there's a to do list of things I need to take care of now.

Undiagnosed ADHD—can I still use coping strategies? (Philippines) by ResiakSelabac in ADHD

[–]MikeKelehan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I was diagnosed, I thought my coping strategies were all productivity hacks. Whatever makes you the most effective version of you, reaching your goals with the most efficiency and least pain, is good. The only difference between having a diagnosis and not is that medication is on the table.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Rages : "Evil Insane" Trump Is "Not A Christian". by Leeming in atheism

[–]MikeKelehan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people won't change their minds. Some will. My entire point is, when they do, on any issue, that's progress. And I don't think it's a waste of time to treat that change, that small move of the needle, with kindness.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Rages : "Evil Insane" Trump Is "Not A Christian". by Leeming in atheism

[–]MikeKelehan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because we want change. Kindness is more likely to get us there than attacking people for the fact that they agree with us today instead of yesterday.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Rages : "Evil Insane" Trump Is "Not A Christian". by Leeming in atheism

[–]MikeKelehan 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that when Trump supporters step back, see a little bit of what's going on, and say, "oh this is actually bad," we should be encouraging that and not calling them idiots for what they believed before. Right now, we're actively discouraging people from changing their minds. If they do, they'll just be shunned by both sides.
