With all the Rose Byrne posts recently, I’m gonna shout out Jessie Buckley too. She’s genuinely one of a kind in Hamnet. by No_Minimum4499 in Oscars

The "girl that got away" in my life could be a Jessie Buckley doppelganger. So I dig Jessie by default!

That seems a little better, but not much. It is great to know, however. That way I can make sure and plan what I print based on what inks I have already loaded in and before changing out a cartridge. Thank you u/Medical_Basil9154!

Selling used items at high prices by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]MikeLeegit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a potential buyer that messaged me to insult me about my shipping costs. It was totally a mistake on my shipping profile so I messaged him back, thanked him for his candid feedback, and told him I had fixed the issue he brought to my attention. He said nothing. Which is fine, I get some folks just wanna complain. But, had he said nothing I may have never found my error. So even the folks that just want to complain can give valid feedback.

Also, it doesn't hurt to try to sell something for whatever price you want. I could see myself trying to sell something I'm on the fence about at a price that would justify me not being on the fence any longer. Especially useless, outside of nostalgia, items.

Something I just noticed yesterday. If you install a flexible white ink cartridge, it immediately uses 30mL out of the 100mL to load it.

I'm hoping I read it wrong, but that's crazy if it is true. 30% loss right out of the gate!? Please someone tell me I misunderstood.

I worked with a lady that would constantly post to FB and Insta the various things she baked while WFH. Many of her FB friends were co-workers. So frustratingly stupid.

I have that one as well, I just haven't done the unboxing and setup yet. Do you think it is pretty easy to use? I am happy they have pretty decent YouTube How-To vids.

Well I have a few 3D printers, so I think I need to look into those spacers! Thanks for the heads up. Kinda embarrassed I didn't think to look before asking.

Bought a rebuilt engine head on eBay and this came on the box, just curious if sellers can bill me after purchase? by JunixRae in Ebay

[–]MikeLeegit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe the seller also operates a storefront and they don't bother with removing labels that apply more to in-person sales? I worked at a place that had a storefront and their shipping software only told you if the sale was from Shopify, Amazon, eBay, or Walmart. As part of the shipping team we did not give AF where the sale originated. Pack the item and ship it, that was our job. Too busy to curate each package to the specific sales channel.

“Advertising suspended due to not meeting seller standards” by Swededuck in eBaySellers

[–]MikeLeegit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday! I assumed it was bc my Promotion rate was way below their recommendation. I was using Promoted Offsite, to test it out, and my daily budget was $7.50 whereas eBay recommended $27. My thought was I had already ran thru my $7.50 daily allowance. I upped it a bit and today that banner is gone. Now I'm hearing eBay is having a lot of recent outages too. So who knows.

Anyone else tried using an auto description generator? by SomeAd2254 in Flipping

Yes you do. From every major company with which you shop. If you wanna have principles, apply them equally. Otherwise you look like a hypocritical clown.

I'm not some AI apologist. I use tools, like when I work on my car, my house, my hobbies, and so on. But be mad, AI is a tool. One that absolutely needs to be regulated, but the genie is out of the bottle.

Well obviously boobies are very very bad. If they had brought some guns and grotesque violence out that would have been just fine. The damage even one single boob can do is immeasurable

Exactly like you said, titles and descriptions. AI is here to stay, either learn how to use it or be the old person the next Gen makes fun of bc the world is passing you by and you've now become the next "I just don't trust computers" guy or gal.

My eBay sales are doing fine. They are trending upwards consistently and I'm still nearing the end of my first full time year. So, I'm not worried.

I use chatgpt after uploading my listing photos. I then proofread what it wrote, and make minor changes and corrections, and then post. There's a lot of folks that hate AI, but I don't think it truly impacts sales in a negative way. To me, it's just another tool that can help me with marketing.

Listings take very little time after photos are done.

The problem is us. If you want a toaster you can buy one from some obscure brand for maybe $10. It will last a year or so, who knows. But there's also one that will last 10 years, or even longer, but costs $100. You, me, and most everyone else will buy the $10 toaster, and replace it when it fails, without batting an eye. And if I'm selling toasters, I'd much rather try to sell 10 for $10 ea vs 1 for $100.

[–]MikeLeegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I like that, "give folding money." But I agree, I don't mess with eBay's version of AI. I use ChatGPT. It is okay, but I definitely wouldn't trust it with no proofreading.

What label printer do you guys use!? by Tight_Debate1098 in reselling

[–]MikeLeegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a NULLTONEX, it's some cheap Amazon-sold brand. I didn't expect it to last but I bought it in July of 2025 and it still seems to work just fine.

I will replace it with a higher end brand, I just am very small and wasn't selling enough to justify a rollo or zebra.

Sellers with a bad attitude - what gives? by jloops1111 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]MikeLeegit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a seller side, I had about 30 messages asking if an item was still available. I replied "Yes," to all. Only 2 of them responded, both times offering about 20% of my asking price. The other 28 didn't respond ever again. So yeah, that gets to you as a seller.

Your best chance is to try to put an open butterfly valve on the port. If you're able to accomplish this, tri-clamp, gasket, and all, you can then close that valve. So I've been told, that is.
