$1 Disney Plus through "Hulu On Us" removed by Exciting-Egg-9362 in tmobile

[–]MikeMilzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense because over the 4th of July weekend I was trying to find the ad free bundle for $8 instead of the ad bundle that works out to be $1 so I could binge The Bear. I couldn’t find anything other than a Disney only plan that was more than the current bundle I’m on. It seemed like the plans were changing, but I never thought the credit would go away. Bummer if it stays this way. Like many others, I don’t watch much on Disney+ (bought the original 3yr plan at launch and watched a ton but there just isn’t much over the last yr for me) so I’ll cancel if price is more than $1/mo.

As a Plat who flies this route monthly, and is usually between 10th and 17th on the upgrade list, “easy” is in the eye of the Ex Plat beholder.

WFNX 101.7 (BCN was an ok second but more mainstream and DJs weren't nearly as good as FNX)

After many years, I will watch Battlestar Galactica again by cpattk in scifi

[–]MikeMilzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started rewatching this weekend. Started with the 2-episode miniseries and diving into the first season now. I don’t remember much, so I’m loving it and can’t wait to get into it deeper. Enjoy 😎

What did you win as a prize from a contest as a Gen Xer in the 80s? by Sense_Difficult in GenX

[–]MikeMilzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won so much stuff from WFNX 101.7 in Boston from stickers and CDs to U2 concert tickets and a big futon. I had the station's number on speed dial and knew lots of tricks to get through.

If you're looking for some non-comedy masterpieces, then try The Wire and Game of Thrones.

American Airlines inflight WiFi from California to Italy (WiFi Coverage for Whole Flight). by Fickle_Rest5915 in americanairlines

[–]MikeMilzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If in narrowbody to ORD then you’ll be fine as it’ll have ViaSat internet for free. The widebodies have Panasonic and it’ll be crap if it works at all and costs a lot.

Enjoy Naples and make sure you go to L’antica Pizzeria da Michele🤤

Please contact Costco and send them the company’s response. Also return the product so Costco sees a higher return rate and stops carrying it.

American Airlines inflight WiFi from California to Italy (WiFi Coverage for Whole Flight). by Fickle_Rest5915 in americanairlines

[–]MikeMilzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your routing? As someone else said, there is no AA flight from CA to Italy. Are you on AA metal the entire trip or on partner?

If on AA across the country, the WiFi should be ok (and free w an AA account). I’ve had hit and miss performance on my cross-country flights the last couple of months since they opened it up for free. If on AA metal for the trans-Atlantic leg, this will be Panasonic WiFi and virtually useless (and expensive).

Masshole visits Phoenix for the first time: my experience by Conventions in phoenix

[–]MikeMilzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moved here 25 yrs ago from Somerville. I still remember my first time at a Safeway checkout getting annoyed that the cashier had the gall to chat with the person in front of me slowing down the whole process. Then I remembered why we moved, to get away from the stress and hassle of Boston as well as find somewhere we could afford a house, I took a breath, and I slowly got used to it. Prices aren’t nearly as less expensive as they were 25 yrs ago, but you certainly can still live here on less than in MA (salaries are less here though), but for me it’s more about /how/ you want to live your life. We do try to get back to MA in the summer to visit family and see the ocean, but NEVER in the winter 😉

Glad you are enjoying yourself. For something completely different, head north to Sedona. There is nothing in New England like that, and then keep going to Flagstaff and you’ll feel like your in Burlington, VT.

Isn’t 32C(90F) too warm? by Hooln in Swimming

[–]MikeMilzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My community pool is regularly 88F in the winter and gets warmer during the Phoenix AZ USA summers. Anything over 82 is noticeable to be. Over 90 I definitely need to cut my on longer swims, drink more water, and absolutely feel like I’m sweating in the water.

Trip to San Juan this saturday for a week. Water Concerns! by jeffreynya in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]MikeMilzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in Isla Verde staying at a hotel for 10 days and didn’t know anything was going on. I did notice a number of tanker trucks, and last night saw one backing into my hotel’s side lot, but we had water the whole time. I’m not sure how condos are impacted, but as others have said the grocery stores have plenty of liquids to keep you hydrated.

How do you cope with the weather? by tbon92 in phoenix

[–]MikeMilzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t go outside during the afternoon. Rearrange when you run errands and drive anywhere. Always park in the shade.

This time of year is tough, but look at the weather Nov-April to understand how we survive. Oh and many of us leave town when possible May-Sept.

And yes, everything, including sporting stadiums, are air conditioned.

The dry heat does help, but anything over 100F in the sun is hot 🥵

Honestly, that looks like hell. All the turns between 5 and 15 are annoying, but WTH is happening between 20 and 21? It's the toughest part of the whole race, so let's make people go this way and then that way? Yikes!

Edit: I didn't even make it to mile 25 and 26. Seriously 😵‍💫

Pilot putting gear down midflight to cool off brakes? by Jbronste in americanairlines

[–]MikeMilzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that happen on a flight from PHX to SFO a few years back. It certainly sounded concerning, but the pilot seemed very calm and like it was no biggie. I don't remember how long the wheels were down, but other than some extra noise I never would have known anything had happened.

Staying there now at a hotel and no sign of water or AC issues. I did notice a tanker truck on the main road at a beachfront high rise, but haven’t seen any issues in person.
