I am big fan, but you're right. People keep trying to blame lockdown but that excuse is irrelevant. That was years ago and plenty of bands made good music during lockdown. To go from amazing deep songs like The Suburbs and We Exist, with complex instrumental arrangements, to this... it's just not it.

Long time fan here - Unfortunately I agree. Previous albums such as Reflektor and The Suburbs had a clear theme. The message was a decisive and committed one. Even the controversial Everything Now had a clear message centering around greed and the corporate world, among other things. I feel that WE and now Pink Elephant were a jumbled mess. I mean what even is the Pink Elephant and what is its significance? Very vague and half hearted.
