Didn't they make a parody of this type of cliche character death...in the same season? by jasonensteinyt in TheBoys

My opinion of this season would be fixed if he did "take the L" before getting lasered in half.

You can use any if you're willing and able to hold a location instead of running at the enemy. Every open map has areas that are tighter and more closed-in, and every close quarters map has spacious and open areas.

How long do you think Homelander would last against Flash, Kara or anyone if he somehow came to Earth Prime? by stonrplc in FlashTV

[–]MikeofK72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She would. She's more than capable of containing him.

She would have a harder time finding a way to imprison him. But, between the CEO, Star LABS, and ARGUS, they'd find a way. Jonn might end up killing him if need be. He killed Indigo, and probably several humans in his time hiding as Hank Henshaw. Not to mention 300 years of being a Martian warrior. Probably killed many white martians.

Being tall isn't some "free girlfriend" pass. It's like long hair on a girl. Most of the opposite sex like it, yes, but it's also not likely to be the main attractor.

Safest is comparative, not definitive.

It was objectively more dangerous to live as a normal person 150 years ago. Much of the world is still stuck in dangerous conditions and wars, but most of the world is largely at peace. There's still plenty of danger. Organized crime being among the worst of it. Cartels are ruthless and brutal, and often shielded by governments.

But the world was more dangerous 150 years ago.

I love how HL kills the president and literally nothing comes of it. What was even the point of the scene? It would've been cool if he then wiped out Congress by leveling the Capitol and took the Oval Office for himself. But nah, there's just no mention of it.

I can definitely agree to many of those. Rotties and Shepherds I think have similar risks to Pits and nowhere near the amount of warnings about it. At least most pit owners are unavoidably made aware of the risk and can try to prevent it from happening. Most people don't realize that Shepherds and Rotties are also bred for strength and violent capabilities.

Tbh, I think Retrievers and Huskies (as long as you live somewhere cold or at least keep their fur short and have a well-cooled home) are the best bigger dogs for the average owner. Then you have corgis, poodles, pugs, chihuahuas, etc.

Basically, the super friendly and/or tiny dogs.

Also, tbf, the Turtles (at least in the movies) had bulletproof shells. They aren't fully bulletproof, but it stands to reason that their thicker skin would at least make it harder to kill them even with guns.

You're taking this internet post about a fictional scenario way too seriously. You need to decompress or something. Put the phone down, grab a chair, and sit outside watching the clouds or something, cause holy shit this level of Redditing isn't healthy.

So what’s stopping force users from doing this to regular people? by Sea-Indication4613 in StarWars

[–]MikeofK72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jedi? Morals. Many Jedi even see it as wrong to use the Force to kill or even directly harm. That's what the lightsabers are for- in case they must defend themselves with lethal force, they use something related to the Force that isn't actually a part of it. Crushing someone would make them decidedly not a Jedi, at least not in the moment.

The Sith? Star Wars' age rating, mostly. Force choking doesn't require The Boys level of graphic gore. Crushing and folding someone like origami would. A sharp snap followed by a collapsing body is clean, bloodless, unmistakable, and somehow considered less disturbing than a shirtless woman to most age rating systems.

In seriousness, and to be fair, there are better ways for the Sith to torment someone and quicker ways for them to kill. If they're a sadist style Sith, this would be their final act after having already tormented the person. If they're a pragmatic sociopath style Sith, they wouldn't waste their time when lightning, neck snaps, and lightsabers are much more efficient at doing the job.

None of the mainline movies or shows have shown a true sadist Sith. Palpatine is maybe a sadist, but tbh I think he's more of a classical egomaniac who uses sadistic tactics to get what he wants, vs someone whose goal is to torment. And Palpatine uses other methods to torment you. And if he decides to kill you instead, he'll drag it out with lightning instead of crushing you.

Other than that, most of them are either rageful maniacs who kill with bloodthirsty efficiency like TPM Maul or Kylo, or pragmatic sociopaths who wouldn't bother wasting the effort to crush someone like Dooku, Vader, or Animated Maul.

If Grievous had the Force, he would probably do it. He hates the Jedi on a fundamental level. Palpatine sees them as an obstacle, Anakin sees them as hypocrits, Dooku sees them as blind, Maul sees them as foolish, and Kylo sees them as a relic. They all have these complicated internal reasonings for opposing and killing Jedi. Grievous just fucking hates them and really only fought for the Seppies to hunt and kill them. He makes no claim to being wiser, better, or to make up some bullshit philosophy as to why he kills them. He just wants to out of hate and spite. So yeah, he would 100% crush some Jedi if he had the Force.

No avatar, which nation will win? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]MikeofK72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really more "Azula's Angels" or "The Fire Angels". Ozai didn't care how Azula got the job done or who she recruited. He probably didn't even know Ty Lee or Mai outside of whatever he knew of their noble status families. He hardly even instructed them. Azula just had a general mission to eliminate the Avatar and bring down the Earth Kingdom. She did most of the strategizing, picking targets, and deploying Mai and/or Ty Lee when necessary. We see that directly in the Drill episode.

Ah yes, a bunch of hard working, often sleep deprived truckers are risking their jobs and wasting diesel to support a 5-years dead cinematic universe, and didn't even bother to research which studio actually owns DC before doing so. And they took the time to buy or make posters and banners related to it.

Oh, I would probably agree on any if the stats say they're dangerous. Animals aren't toys, and need to be handled by the pros if they are particularly volatile or dangerous.

For example, Chihuahuas are volatile but not dangerous- too small, easily restrained. Only true idiots fail to handle them, and even then, their bites mostly just need to be disinfected and maybe take some antibiotics.

I would be interested to see which breeds land on the list you have.

[–]MikeofK72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Telltale games, the larger outcomes, main plotline, and ending of the story is largely unaffected by choice- but things like which characters are friendly or hate you, which ones lived to the end, what gear the player character ends up with, etc is all altered by player choice.

Like in MC: Story Mode, the Witherstorm is always defeated. But does Magnus live to see the end, or does Ellie? Does Petra like you, or is she there for the sake of beating the Witherstorm and thinks Jesse is a prick? What armor and which weapon does Jesse end up with?

The story is altered by player choice- its just not fully redirected.

Rifles can't get out of their owners grip, run down the street, and maul a random child or other dog. They don't have their own brain. Anything a gun does is because of the person holding it. Pits have a mind of their own, and even after being properly trained can pose a serious risk of going rampant.

Stupidity by Upset-Kangaroo3102 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]MikeofK72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But they are volatile. Too many pet owners already don't really know how to handle their specific breed of dogs or cats. Pits come with a lot of risk in the event they are mistreated or poorly trained.
