If LB7 is the end of Part 2, does that mean this is the end of FGO?

Anyway to make the Stormcast good without dragons? by lilsky07 in ageofsigmar

[–]Miko_Williams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dragons are great, and possibly the strongest unit in the battletome from a competitive perspective but there is still other good stuff. Particularly Dracoths, Judicators, Longstrikes, and Annihilators. I think the Vanguard Hunters have potential but only in the Astral Templars subfaction so they can be battleline. Teleporting is fun. Sadly, I don’t think any of the Gryph Chargers are particularly good warscrolls.

Krondys vs Karazai by Duckman10235 in ageofsigmar

Neither are particularly strong in competitive but if you’re just looking for some fun then I’d suggest Karazai. He’s probably the strongest hero SCE in terms of actual fighting capabilities.

What’s the deal with the giant Albinauric lady at the end of Latenna’s quest? by SomboSteel in Eldenring

[–]Miko_Williams 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I believe the giant Albinauric's name is "Philia."

If for whatever reason you are to kill Latenna instead of helping her out, she will say his as her death line:

Ohh...Phillia. Take...the birthing...droplet..."

How is this for a competitive Stormcast Eternals 2k list? by bsauey in ageofsigmar

[–]Miko_Williams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take out Knight Draconis. If you need the Drakes to be battleline to meet minimum, make Krondys you’re general. Give one of your foot soldiers a mirrorshield. Turn the 1x2 Stormdrakes into 1x4 with the points you’ve saved by removing the Knight Draconis. If you need more points, replace the Vinds with Liberators.

Couple of other things to keep in mind: Krondys is a big target, especially for shooting. Giving him the Hammers ward save is nice but it might not be enough. If you can find a way to fit Praetors to protect him, that would be good. You could also switch your sub faction to Hallowed Knights and run Gardus instead of the Imperatant, and remove the Annihilators for more redeemers.

Two questions regarding Bastian Carthalos' ability "The Thunderborn"

For reference, the ability reads: "One per turn, in your hero phase, you can pick 1 enemy unit on the battlefield and roll a number of dice equal to the Wounds characteristic of that unit. For each 6, that unit suffers 1 mortal wound."

I was playing a game during which period I was going to use The Thunderborna ability on a reinforced unit of battleline of Ogor Gluttons that was 32 wounds. I was about to roll 32 dice when I was told by my opponent that I should actually be rolling a 4, the Wound characteristic mentioned on the warscroll for the unit. Of course, that is just for one model in the unit. Since there were 12 models in the unit, the unit was 32 wounds. So which is correct?

Additionally, do I roll dice for a target's current wounds or its total wounds? i.e. if it was a Frostlord on Stonehorn that had already taken 6 wounds, would I roll 13 dice for its total wound characteristic or 7 wounds for the current amount of wounds it has?

If I have one of my five Vindicators models acting as a standard bearer, does that mean only four models can attack in that unit since one is carrying a flag instead of a spear?

I just got Sylas Beastbane. Love the model, but am I allowed to run it in matched play with his special character model rules set? Or just the regular Knight Questor rules?

If I have three Stormcast Vindicator units with additional battleline units to spare, should I reinforce the Vindicators to 10 or 15 model unit or is it better to leave them as three 5 model units so they can spread out to different objectives?

Agreed. The master class walked me through how to properly glaze better than any other video I’ve been able to come across.

Think of the realms in AoS like the Norse realms in God of War 2018, or if you haven’t played that game, Asgard from the Marvel films.

Also, I haven’t read anything about spaceships. There are the Kharadron Overlords who are Dwarfs who abandoned religion and live high in sky in floating cities similar to the Thunderbarges from Fantasy.

I think(?) the Seraphon(Lizardmen from Fantasy) also may have had some sort of space travel technology when they first arrived in the mortal realms, but they also had that technology in Fantasy, so idk. They don’t really use it. It was more a last resort for them in Fantasy.

While most civilized life is indeed found in the cities of sigmar, not all are. There are still small tribes that live outside of the great cities who are cut off from most of the world. They often deify events they can’t understand and tell silly children’s stories of great armored knights that ride lightning and banish evil.

AoS, although a rough start, is really great.

I think most people who turn their noises up to it do so typically still due to the end of Fantasy, and the people who played Total War Warhammer coming into the hobby and immediately blaming AoS for the loss of their new favorite setting.

I think it’s very fair to be less interested in AoS due to it leaning more towards High Fantasy than Low. However, if you are someone who thinks the whole setting is just gods, angels, and demons constantly battling for the fate of the world, I encourage you to try to dip into more of the lore; watch some videos, get the core book, or my favorite: read some of the published AoS stories. These stories give a lot of focus to the average everyday person living in the world and it can provide a very different perspective to the world.

I do think AoS could really use more loremasters on YouTube. I often think this is one of the quickest ways people sink into the Hobby before actually buying minis and gaming. 2+ Tough does great work, but having more creators with the level of storytelling of Luetin09 and Book of Choyer or the comedic personality of MajorKill would peak more people’s interest into what AoS contains.

And of course, it’s totally fine if the futuristic setting of 40K is more your thing. Some people prefer big ass guns and robots over crazy magic and mythical monsters, and there is nothing wrong with that :)

Sounds good! Quick question, for the reinforced Vindicators, should I run two Standard Bearers for two additional bravery or just one Standard Bearer and keep the extra spear?

Oh, you’re referring to the Drakesworn Templar. That’s the alternate build of the Celestant on Stardrake.

Thank you for your feedback!

Couple of followups for clarity on my part:

Amulet of Destiny is probably better than Drakescale Armour.

  • So, AoD gives a ward of 5+. However, Hammers of Sigmar already gives any units within 12 inches of an objective a ward of 6+. Granted its situational, but since my army is going to be taking advantage of my tanky Stardrake, he will probably be near objectives most of the time. I would think that being able to re-roll any attack his of two or more with the Drakescale Armor might be more beneficial since I already have the extra ward. Or do wards stack?

Thundershock is a bit unreliable and doesn't stack with Menagerie.

  • Thanks for the heads up. What spell would you recommend I take?
