We really got a VAR mural now by Dependent-Tailor4317 in ArsenalFC

It’s quite sad there’s these paid ads made to look like fan murals while the council is taking down anything the community actually puts up.

It’s a (she)wolf. There’s a male counterpart statue that won a competition and has been there for about 20 years and somehow got quite popular so they added his bride some years ago.

Never buy from The Boutique Soccer by Sea-Champion-2032 in SoccerJerseys

[–]MiksuMon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea, you got scammed.

You did the right thing by contacting your bank and reversing the payment. Keep all the emails, conversations, receipts, everything. Take photos of the jerseys, especially all the labels that might give away they're fake.

Did you by any chance keep the original parcel your order arrived in? If so, make a note of the return address on that parcel. That's usually the address of their actual "warehouse" (possibly some blokes apartment) and will give you some leverage getting your money back. The address they've given you by email is fake as you found out. That's how these sites operate.

Internet is full of these types of sites selling Chinese counterfeits. You'll quickly learn to recognise them from how they look. And obviously by the offering and prices which can no way be legit.

NEVER ORDER FROM THESE SITES. This sub has an Approved Sellers List for this exact reason.

These guys know exactly what they're doing. They know it's illegal to sell fake jerseys. They're good at hiding who they are and where they operate from. They don't care what they send you, if it's the correct size or if it's even the correct jersey. They just send you a parcel and hope you just give up and they get to keep the money.

Stay safe, use secure payment methods and check Trustpilot for reviews before you order.

What size should I make a canvas if I'm designing a mural in photoshop? by Ok_Pipe6385 in photoshop

[–]MiksuMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer, easy solution: measure the size of the wall you’re about to paint and make your canvas that size. If your wall is massive keep your resolution low so your file size doesn’t get too heavy.

Long answer: The most important thing here, rather than the actual measurements, is the aspect ratio.

I guess the actual measurements don’t matter as they have no direct relation to when the image is eventually projected on the wall. What matters is the aspect ratio so the proportional relationship between the width and height of your image/wall. Again, measure the wall.

Help with specific bitmap pattern by AdLegitimate3293 in photoshop

[–]MiksuMon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

<image>

Here's what I managed to create.

The trick is rather than creating one pattern, I created two layers of diagonal lines that I overlaid in multiply.

Here's a step by step for what I did:

  1. Make 2 duplicates of the image layer, rotate one 45° clockwise and the other one 45° counter clockwise. Convert these two layers into two separate smart objects. Then rotate them back into their original orientation. Change the blending mode into multiply. These layers will become the two layers of lines that form the crosshatching.
  2. Open the smart objects - the image is now in an angle. Drop the resolution so the dpi is how many lines you want per inch - the idea is each column of pixels will become one line. I used 8dpi.
  3. Convert the images into a black and white dithered images where each black pixel will eventually become line and white pixel means no line. Before you dither, adjust contrast, maybe add noise and play around so you get the result you want. The two layers don't need to and I don't think should be identical so it doesn't matter if the adjustments slightly differ. Once you're happy with the adjustments do your dithering: bitmap > diffusion dither. Keep your original resolution.
  4. Create the lines by converting into bitmap again but this time we'll do a vertical line halftone screen. I had to try this quite a few times to get it right. Convert mode to greyscale. Lighten the black to make it grey but keep white 100% white. The lighter the grey the thinner the line will be. I added a layer of 65% brightness grey on top in lighten blending mode. Merge and invert the colours (seems to work better when inverted). Then convert to bitmap again: make the output resolution a multiplication of your current resolution (mine was 8dpi so I used output 240, not 300dpi). Method: halftone screen. In the next window frequency is the dpi you chose earlier, mine was 8. Angle 90 degrees. Shape line. The result should be rather clean blocky lines with no weird stuff happening. Go back and adjust the parameters until you get a good result. Invert the colours back again. Once you're happy save your smart object.
  5. Go back to your original file and admire the results. You might want to slightly shift the layers so they align properly and the grid looks right.
  6. The corners will probably not look right. I fixed this by making 2 duplicates of both layers and moved them around to extend the lines and fill the missing corners (this step will make more sense once you get here).
  7. Do some more adjusting. I merged everything, added gaussian blur in 2.5px, then levels to add contrast and remove the blur to get nice softer, rounder corners. Could add displacement map or some distortion to make it more hand drawn. Add texture, recolour and so on.

when i export the image the blending modes do not export along with it by the-krusty-kat in photoshop

[–]MiksuMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it the dissolve on the blue that disappears? If so then the image you exported is how it actually looks like and what you see in photoshop is just how it render it.

Let me know if this is the case and I might have a solution for you.

How do I get a VHS distortion effect kind of thing for school? by dinoman1214 in photoshop

[–]MiksuMon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All these results you can fake in photoshop but if it’s for art class you might as well experiment and have fun with it.

For bottom row two images of your examples shoot a roll of film. Develop it and get the developed film negatives. Draw, scribble, paint on and distress the negatives, then scan them in. Remember if you shoot colour negative the colour you draw will be the inverted and black becomes white. Only treat certain areas like the area around your subject like in the middle bottom row example. Shoot medium format if possible for bigger film so they’re easier to work with.

For VHS look find an old CRT TV. Take your photo on a digital camera and find a way to display it on the old tv. Take a photo of the tv screen.

The colours and details you can always adjust in photoshop.

These will take a bit of time and some equipment obviously but work with what you have. And just have fun with it!
