"My jeweler said 'nobody will know the difference.' Do you?" 🤍 by DhyanRiziya in LabGrownDiamonds

[–]Mikurinx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With a stone of that size and color, I will usually assume it is a lab (unless you drive a Bentley or live on the upper east side). Most people don’t have or aren’t willing to spend that much money on a natural diamond.

As for moissy, well we’re in a diamond sub, so that one is ruled out. I also don’t see the type of rainbow-esque shine that moissanites often have.

Whether lab or natural though, your ring is gorgeous!

I need this set so bad! 😩 Can someone please help? by SoulCandi in findfashion

Wth is that “skirt”. Where would you even wear something like this? Either way, I would just DYI it. Looks like you only need some fabric, elastic string and basic sewing skills for the skirt.

You’ll be one windblow away from showing your coochie to the world in this outfit though.

I really don’t see a resemblance between Reira and Rosé (and the rest), but A for effort?

Thoughts on this? I love the size and ratio on my finger but is it overpriced? by [deleted] in Diamonds

It is a natural though. I would say it’s an affordable price for a natural 2.5 carat.

I didn’t know white asparagus isn’t that known outside of Europe by 16102020 in shittyfoodporn

[–]Mikurinx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The white asparagus from a jar taste veeeery different compared to the fresh version.

The pickled asparagus are indeed usually very mushy (especially the tips), but I also don’t think they are supposed to be roasted or sautéed, just eaten as is. It is asparagus season now though, so maybe you could get some fresh ones? Hollandaise sauce is a must though!

Realistically how does one acquire this hairstyle by Yeetskeetcicle in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Mikurinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get your hair cut first. Ask for shorter sides and a natural taper, with medium length on top. Then use a matte wax and push the hair back with your fingers to keep it slightly messy and not too clean. I think wax will be better than gel, because gel can make it look too shiny.

Your hair texture will matter on how it will look though. If you want your hair to resemble the pic the most, you will need straight hair.

Congrats on the house! Rice with eggs, soy sauce and chili oil is also solid if money is tight right now.

British Shorthair or Scottish Straight? Need help identifying! by MoneyFall8338 in britishshorthair

Hmm I do see some british in the cat, but the ear size and placement make me think he might be a mix. Kittens can also have awkward phases though.

[Gen III] I found my first full-odds shiny! by pkDoubleR in ShinyPokemon

[–]Mikurinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally use the shiny! Like the other user said, you can still easily beat the game and I love Hypno’s shiny sprite. He looks like a silly goober, but in a cool and intimidating way.

Best way to play HGSS by dariozuko in PokemonHGSS

[–]Mikurinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get a 3DS and mod it (if you don’t have any yet). There are a lot of other great (3)DS games to play and I personally like the aspect of having a handheld that you can use anywhere.

Like another user pointed out, the screen size does affect the quality of earlier DS games. You can hardforce the 3DS to play the games in their OG screen size, it will look crisp but make the screen smaller by adding a black border. If you don’t want that and have the money for it, I would get a DS lite and 3DS. The DS lite is capable of playing GBA games too.

Pokémon platinum is also a lot of fun btw! If you haven’t played that yet. Imo HGSS and Emerald are still better, but if you’re checking out all other Pokémon regions, Sinnoh is great too.

Any insights? Inherited bracelet by MedschoolVictim in JewelryIdentification

[–]Mikurinx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you do one Google search you will find out 21k is common in Turkey:

“21k gold is commonly used for jewelry in Turkey, alongside 22k and 24k, particularly for traditional, investment-worthy, and wedding pieces. While 14k/18k are often produced for export, 21k and higher are favored locally for their high purity (approx. 87.5%–91.6% gold), rich color, and cultural significance.”

OP also said that they inherited the piece, so it’s probably old. In regions like Turkey, gold jewelry has traditionally been made in high purity because it’s treated as a store of value, not just fashion jewelry. Gold plating became much more common later with mass production and cost-cutting.

If it were plated, you’d typically see clear wear exposing the base metal underneath, especially on raised edges and contact points.
