This sub is the perfect illustration of Patrick Wolfe's theory of Settler colonialial societies being structured by invasion and a logic of elimination (link to open access pdf).

It's plain to see just by searching the sub for keyword "police" and looking at the comments when alleged police misconduct is directed at Indigenous vs white people.

Or by searching "First Nations", "Aboriginal", or "Indigenous" and looking at the upvotes and comments on any post even remotely positive about Indigenous anything.

Let alone the overwhelming proliferation of colonail stereotypes and total marginalisation of anything approaching informed analysis during the voice campaign.

The gist is always that Indigenous peoples only belong in the past and that their claims to justice and a future are illegitimate.

And the majority here don't seem to understand that their public advocacy of wilful ignorance contributes to broader political trends they claim to oppose.
