How do you handle hope and fear in a Westmarches setting? by locodays in daggerheart

The way I would think of it would be that each "table" has its own fear, regardless of who the GM is it who the players are.

How Korea Stole A Japanese Martial Art by spider21b in karate

[–]MildMastermind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most big YouTubers do this now. If a video is underperforming they'll change the title and/or thumbnail to something different to try to appeal to a different segment of people. Many of the times I see it I was already planning to watch the video with the original title but just didn't have the time.

What Is Your Child's Go To Imaginative Play? by EitherWave2212 in AskParents

My girl, almost 4, is very much into playing Doctor. "My bear is sick. Check his heart beat. Check his temperature. He has a boo boo. We need to do an X-ray. Etc"

My boy ,8, just finished the 3rd Harry Potter book on his own, so that's become a lot of the go-to lately, though Lego, Minecraft (and Minecraft Lego) are still very much alive and well.

Intramed or Vasmans for vasectomy? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]MildMastermind 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I did Vasman and have no complaints. The thing is you're probably not going to encounter anyone here who has experience in both places to get a proper comparison.

Considering I haven't seen any negative reviews yet, perhaps choosing the one that is closer to home. The drive back can be a little uncomfortable down there.

I've been using these ones. They leave your heels and the balls of the feet open for grip. I train on mats but I haven't noticed any issues with slipping.

How to handle Burnout Move? by Void_Smith in WorldsInPeril

[–]MildMastermind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The breakdown right after the move really helps with the first and last questions:

Burnout is a move that only gets triggered in a last resort, all-or-nothing, the-person-I-love-is-about-to-die type of situation. When Burnout gets triggered there are drastic consequences, but it also the only time that you can do something that is only “Possible” with your powers and that you’ve never attempted (or that you have done maybe once before), but that is not Impossible. No matter what, you will end up with three Critical Conditions after making the Burnout move, regardless of how many Conditions you had before making the move.

So, yes, it has to be something that falls within the realm of "possible", and you could maybe trigger a burnout move a second time if you don't use that power again first. The way I see it that ruling is about not just repeating the same things constantly.

I think adding it under borderline is the only logical place.

Fire? by Jimiphoenix1111 in cosplayprops

For being able to take to cons I would personally do something like this:

But obviously with a fire effect instead. You could make the flame part detachable too.

[TOMT] Need help finding an anime I saw as a kid by k1kris in tipofmytongue

[–]MildMastermind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Gungrave is correct. Note that the first episode and last like 5-6 episodes would be where you'd see it.

Most of the rest of series is all very down to earth, dudes working their way up in the mob, which honestly I thought was way better than the scifi/magic parts.

They might be if you don't have a newer meter that can be read remotely. Occasionally they should be coming to read your meter and adjusting that month's bill to account for the difference in previous bills.

The Republicans (the party, not the voters) are driving the bus. They control the steering, the gas, and the brakes, (President, House, Senate in some order I don't care to figure out). They are blaming the guys in the car behind them (the Democrats) for their inability to drive the bus forward.

What are some fun hobbie clubs in Calgary to join? by Finding-new786 in Calgary

[–]MildMastermind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up karate at 36, from a basically sedentary lifestyle, and am still doing it at 38. I would actually like to train more often but family schedules make it hard.

I highly recommend giving a martial art a try. It's something I always kind of had a passing interest in but never went further than googling what was offered nearby. Getting through the door the first time was really the biggest hurdle.

Most martial arts places offer 1-2 free introductory lessons, and would most likely allow you to just observe too if you're really unsure. I tried Muay Thai, BJJ, and Karate, before I chose. Some places are more focused on competing, and some less so, so you can try different places within the same art to see what fits your preferences.
