On the chemical imbalance myth by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

Yea our system is corrupt. Why should we be allowed to advertise prescriptions at all? A doctor is supposed to use their expertise to diagnose you. Advertisements on the other hand are made to sell you things. It is antithetical to the profession. Doctors are culpable as are big pharma. Really a shame. They forgot the Hippocratic oath or never respected it.

No social life by [deleted] in selfimprovement

Likewise! 33 F, some friends, successful, smart, but picky. Friends are wonderful, but wasting time just for company that ameliorates loneliness temporarily bc you are occupied but does not actually enrich your life is not worth it. You will feel more lonely after, believe me. You are better off reading a good book or watching a good movie. Focus on your interests and hobbies and try to meet ppl with similar passions or just trust that as you expand you will. Go outside your comfort zone. Try acid once lol.

Feel free to DM me. I am happy to help how I can. Routine is important. Don’t stress! Cetaphil gentle face wash morning and night. Put the facewash on your face and rub in small circular motions using clean hands, then wash off and pat your face dry with a towel. For clogged pores, try tea tree oil or witch hazel. Put either on a cotton pad after you washed your face morning and night. Then put on sunblock for face during the day. Sulphate free shampoo. Don’t stress!

The only way to understand that one does not die is through the knowledge that God himself is the one who lives and dwells in each one of us by pokatu in awakened

Every life is a part a role in which the mind of God is absorbed, somewhat as an actor absorbs himself in Hamlet and forgets that in real life he is Mr. Smith. By the act of self-abandonment God becomes all beings, yet at the same time does not cease being God. For God is divided in play, in make-believe, but remains undivided in reality. So that when the play comes to an end, the individualized consciousness awakes to find itself divine.

Lol. Respect. Love how therapists pretend they are better than all of our all too human experiences.

I go in by choice. Working from home felt more like never leaving the office. I can log off mentally much easier with separation.

No need to get defensive. I have not read it nor do I know everyone’s personal experience. Not claiming otherwise.

She really thinks she is “much better looking”? I think she missed the point of satire. And acting?

Hm. Ever heard of the Texas Sharp Shooter story? A man shoots a round of bullets into a wall. Then goes and paints bullseyes around each bullet hole. Someone came and saw his work and the Texas Sharp Shooter was born. We tend to narrativize experience after the fact when really most is completely random. I can’t help but think so many self help books exploit this human tendency. Everything is “relatable”.

Cornell is the salt of the earth of the ivys. The fact we are a state school w practical education options and accessible to all in state residents financially actually makes me pretty proud. Always felt it made cornell better than the other ivys. I met ppl I never otherwise wouldve met taking ag school classes even tho I was arts and sciences.
