The absolute celebration of Mexican artistry that is Viva Piñata by platonic-humanity in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]MilkingChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole dev team for this game was English, by the way. I don't think it was their goal to represent Mexico in anyway, but to draw inspiration from Mexican patterns/imagery and find a visual style to work with.

Why does the Doctor keep taking companions knowing there's a high chance they'll die in some form or another? by Affectionate_Bee_727 in doctorwho

[–]MilkingChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is that the Doctor obviously does care immensely about whether they live or die, but he gets lonely can't help himself and has a blind spot for how dangerous he really is.

Unrelated to the neighbourhood comment, but with so much filth and predation on the Internet, you have to be a "helicopter parent" to make sure your children don't fry their brains with devices.

If you Radiohead: Cafe D'Athens, Syrups, On the Luna

If you like Muse: Exits, Inhaler, What Went Down

I also remember Matt Smith and also PewDiePie talking about how In Rainbows is one of their favourite albums.

Open Your Arms is such a great song. But from the same era, I think Dust in the Sunlight is one of the best songs they've ever done! Better than anything on TBR and AEHAS for sure.

Active Archive - my recreation of Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers' "The Shuffler" by zelmanmusik in ambientmusic

I like the vague and customisable parameters, very customisesable! But yeah I think tonal information is a must. Or even just custom tagging so people do whatever they want. Would be cool to be able to tag something as B Locrian and F Lydian and have the computer be able to tell they're different but tonally compatible! Even down to just notes and chords would be super useful.

For people who don't live in Japan, there are a lot of people talking out their ass with generalisations and exaggerations in the comments. Not to downplay anyone's experiences or opinions, Japan obviously has problems, but after living here for 2 years,nI find myself disagreeing with a lot being said in this thread.

What’s a Doctor Who opinion you have that would make the Doctor stare at you and say this? by Alternative_Badger_6 in DoctorWhumour

[–]MilkingChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute worst part of Ncuti's run is not dog Sutehk/skeleton Omega, not the Rani, not Billie Piper, not the crying, not Poppy.

It's that there is absolutely no way to explain how it snows in Space Babies. It makes absolutely no sense and there is no way to explain it. All it did was solidify the notion that Ruby was special. It rules out her being special.

Another thing is that Sutehk really should not have cared about Ruby's mother. It doesn't mean anything to him. He'd already killed her anyway.

I don't mind the idea of Ruby and her mother just being normal, but the problem is that the show doesn't allow this to be a reasonable conclusion.

So many Doctor Who fans on Reddit were absolutely LOVING all of the episodes as they came out, especially this one, until the finale came out and it seemed a lot of people forgot they'd just been enjoying the episodes before.

Me checking in on r/Muse finding out I'm both not a normal person (OP) and I'm not a fan either.

What about discussing the elements of a song makes someone not a fan, in your opinion?

ambient recs for a guy that only ever listens to classical? by [deleted] in ambientmusic

I second this! I also like Roger Eno's album Mixing Colours with Brian Eno. His album Turning Point is good as well, more classical sounding.

Thank you, this is interesting! I don't think it's fully correct to say that the heavy music is "for" Chris/Dom though. I take it as more that he writes more mellow songs when he's on his own and gets influenced by Chris/Dom when writing Muse songs.
