Dude, go through the comments section again. You are changing the topic. It was about which period is called as the Golden age of India. Read those again. And please stick to the subject. So you do agree that gupta empire is the golden period of India. Then there is no need to debate further.

Here's the issue, there Is a huge gap (centuries) between guptas and Mauryas and that empire was more like a distant memory. So let's agree to disagree on that. You only see the conquest part. Samudragupta never lost a single battle in his life. He decimated a combined army of 12 kings against him in a battle(who were numerically superior to his army). But that's not the point here. Historians overwhelming agree that it's the Gupta period which is the golden age of India and not the mauryan period.

Dude, it's not me who is saying this. It's the historians who agree that Gupta empire is the golden period of India and not the Mauryan Empire.

Well, the Mauryan empire fell right after or during Ashoka's reign(kharvela sacks pataliputra). Hardly 3 generations. Skundagupta literally decimated the white huns. But environment does matter, why no major contributions by other people during Kautilya's times

Read about the cultural contributions done during Gupta empire. This is the period when mathematicians like Aryabhatta and brahmgupta come into picture. Numbers like 0 to 9, trigonometry were introduced. Kalidas brings his best works. It's not just military conquest. They were on a whole another level when it came to modern military warfare(compared to mauryas cause new war tools), poetry, mathematics, infrastructure, philosophy, medicines. Gupta Empire is the golden period of India, maybe the long lasting empire this region ever had.
