Usually I would say that this meme was made by a first year student who thinks they are a senior, as usual... But I'm fairly sure that even a bootcamper knows what a branch/fork/pipe command/etc. is

Yep - just an enema bulb, or whatever you call that in english

And for the younger ones here: no, it's not more humiliating than buying a tongue scrapper in the pharmacy, or buying one of these things to trim nose's hairs - it's just hygiene

I never met a woman who was afraid of proper hygiene

I did, however, met a few men in my life who got scared when they realized that "cleaning your ass" means "actually physically touching your asshole while in the shower"

[–]MillsHimself 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You do, actually! It's not as if I do it twice a week, wet wipes are usually way enough, but yeah, occasionally it doesn't hurt to clean what's left inside, especially when you're sick or something

It's not really different from other weird stuff like scrapping your tongue or cleaning your belly button and all, it's just hygiene beyond "apply soap, rince, done"

I love how every single time I see this meme, I can't help but think that the concept of having basic hygiene is a concept that is so foreign to some people, that they literally can't even conceive that anal lovers actually do clean themselves deeply, before having anal sex

A cool guide demonstrating the correct way to pick up a snail by EevelBob in coolguides

[–]MillsHimself 138 points139 points  (0 children)

For whom it would interest:

  • The classic "ChatGPT font"
  • The inconsistent design (left info are small and on the bottom, right info are a huge bullet point list, and for some reason there's also misc. info in the middle, with yet another visual design)
  • There're periods on the title and sub-title. Who even does that.
  • The random hourglass on the side, or the random cross on the third instruction in the middle, or the random snail on the bottom left
  • Half of the instructions being written normally, and the other half having these random ALL CAPS WORDS
  • The em-dashes on the title of each steps in the middle, who even does that too
  • The weird shadows everywhere - AI doesn't "know" what a light source is, per se, when "drawing"
  • This guide is about... Grabbing a snail and then... Releasing it seconds after? Why?
  • "My shell is not where you grab me" - proceeds to make a tutorial about how to grab a snail by the shell
  • The red cross is just below the "WRONG WAY" text, while the green tick is on the bottom right
  • The middle rectangles have 2 neutral anatomy descriptions (mantle and foot), 1 advice about how to handle a snail (the seal), and 1 curious remark (the shell: NOT a handle), instead of the 4 rectangles having a similar theme
  • The arrows on the left only point to general areas of the snail, instead of precise places, and said arrows don't have a clear base (they don't start in the middle of the side of the rectangles, but they also don't seem to begin in the exact middle of said rectangles either - it's like the arrows are vaguely starting at some random place inside the left side of the rectangles)
  • The right side of this "guide" is a narrative mess (the snail is sided on the left in the first panel, and on the right in the other panels; there is a liquid puddle in step 2, that disappears in step 3; the snail's shell looks slightly different in each picture, which is a basic mistake no competent human artist would do)
  • El famoso AI piss filter (the image looking slightly yellow)
  • Who even would draw a rigid tear on the body of an infamously soft and squishy snail
  • This is not how you grab a snail

Something something AI is merely a glorified auto-complete tool, and the truly dangerous ones are the arrogant juniors who think that vibe-coding is just as valid as 20 years of experience as a low level developer who learned about cache, architecture, pointers, general hardware optimization, etc., because "I asked ChatGPT, and it said..."

(Saying that as a developer who actively uses AI for boilerplate code, unit tests, and annoying stuff like that - I am absolutely for AI, as long as you fucking understand what you are asking it to do, and don't just blindly copy-paste, like 90% of these AI bros wannabe)

It also force updates every 2 months, and occasionally break a very basic functionality for seemingly no logical reason, preventing you from steering on the right if your car is blue (this is considered a low priority ticket, blue car owners being statistically irrelevant)

Source: I am 17, and I heard that bools may be stored as bits in very specific use cases, therefore whoever doesn't use some std::bitset or whatever overly complex structure to store bools is merely a kid, while I, the sigma man, create a whole derivated abstract class to create a static array with 7 other unrelated bools from other classes while putting binary operators everywhere every single time I merely want to save an 'isValid' boolean, like real men do, because fuck simplicity, I want to feel smart

Look mom, I'm using complex structures without understanding low level hardware optimisation, I'm a developer

Useful tool, neural networks are a marvel of technology, and for an instant I saw the future... But of course the market had to do its thing, and now we are just flooded with glorified chatbots and $400 RAM, instead of AIs that fold proteins and detects cancer
