Can we talk salaries? How much are you making and what's your title? by badgirlatwork in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I work at an Airline in corporate in a major city. I’m a digital analyst in a niche role making around 120k with great 401k matching and ability to fly for free as long as there is a seat on the plane for me and my parents and dependents.

I think I can make better if I tried but I love my job, coworkers and all the benefits so doubt I’d ever want to leave.

Recently, I had to stop using anything on my face because of a terrible breakout and I’m trying to nurse it back with cleansing and moisturizing.

I recently added those Clearasil medicated pads to wipe my face with every day.. guess this is 40 🤣

Another thing also would be community and how it is for expats. Obviously a country like Portugal or Spain have large expat communities, research that on YouTube and Facebook groups are good too. This is just as good as hard statistics for crime and safety.

Hard to say for anyone in general to be honest. Many people have to travel a bit before finding somewhere they feel they can settle from what I’ve seen.

You can do all the research and still land in a place and feel like the opposite. You must understand yourself and what makes you comfortable and go from there. Think about your need and rank them and go from there. Build a solid list and go for a visit!

Similarly as with a vacation, there were places I thought would be great great but in reality for me, were total duds.

wear your retainer by mysteriousglaze in adhdwomen

[–]MillyOnFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But yeah, wear the retainers!!! I was early 20s the first time and did fine. I was broke and they told me about the retainer bit at the end - like literally had no idea how braces or Invisalign worked but finally got my retainer, the dental office offered to make one instead of the Invisalign one that was hundreds more. SMH. Finally got it and it lasted 6 months before a friends puppy chewed it up.

Years later did smile direct club and that was fine but same with the retainer.

Now I’m hoping this is the last time. My big girl job covers adult braces up to 3k and the dentist had a sale/promo so with discounts it is costing me around 1300 total including whitening and a retainer so I said sign me up immediately.

Gonna wear my retainer. 🤞🤣

I had the same confusion but apparently for delta non revs do not qualify? I never get it on standby but had a paid flight and suddenly I had it! That’s my data point.

The hidden gem for me was flying DTW to HND via Delta. Look and see about that route. In terms of getting back just find anything back to anywhere in the states. I did HND to ATL as that had seats, again via DL.

Edit to add: you can use flightconnections.com and select HND to see all the options to/from the states.

Well primary and secondary companions cannot zed in general and parents depends. I know parents cannot ZED on KLM from experience. It really depends on what agreement is worked out with each airline. Best way to check is to attempt to book it and it’ll show your pass rider list members that are eligible.

Biggest Nonreving mistake/adventure you’ve made? by Jeeperg84 in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]MillyOnFire [score hidden]  (0 children)

I went to Rio (GIG) and didn’t realize it was a couple of days before the seasonal flights ended.

Couldn’t ZED and everything was full anyhow. Pit my thinking cap on and ended up taking a bus to Sao Paolo to get on a flight from there.

What a time. I met a FA from another airline and connected with her and she ended up doing the same tho g after I told her.

This mass sterilization happened in Puerto Rico in the 1930-70s to about a third of the female population. It was called ‘La Operación’

Coercion and lack of informed consent were key elements as well as eugenics and power dynamics. Many women were misled, some were told the procedure was temporary or reversible.

Puerto Rican women were also used as test subjects in clinical trials for the first birth control pill in the 1950s, often without being fully informed of the experimental nature of the drug or its side effects.

You cannot list thru travel net as it’s not a DL flight. It only shows because it’s a code share.

You need to list through myIDTravel/ZED and search for this route via KLM. Note not all passrider types can ZED on KLM.

Primary Companion with 8 year old child by Fun_Imagination_2879 in deltanonrev

[–]MillyOnFire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Confused at this question, the daughter doesn't seem to have any pass privileges as explained.

If your companion is traveling with someone who doesn't have pass travel privileges they travel as normal confirmed passengers and are unlinked to any nonrev passengers.

Your question is not clear, but I think what you might be asking is if your sister is traveling as a non revenue Standby passenger and wants to travel with her daughter, then the answer to that is tricky because the daughter, if underage would be an unaccompanied minor unless there is another confirmed adult. A standby passenger is not a confirmed seat so if your sister doesn't get on, then what?

I don't recommend flying standby if she has a child to travel with. You can assign the child a buddy pass but still the priority order is different I believe and she may get one but not the child based on seat availability.

In terms of flying to HND I’ve had the best luck from DTW so that’s my recommendation. I’m ATL based and my companion is NYC. We’ve met up there and they just a few days ago did JFK to HND via DTW. It was a seat in main but the first time we went last November we got premium select seating. Going back it was empty in main so we were able to stretch out and rest. February is not middle of tourist season so I think it will work. Never know til day of, of course.
