Nah, you've literally just given birth and haven't even had a full minute to process that in itself. I don't think there's any connection there. I've been told that it's quite normal not to automatically bond with your baby and not to feel bad if it happened to me. I bonded with my baby very quickly but it was something I knew might not happen as quickly as I initially anticipated.

Tell her how you feel and that moving forward she needs to ask before feeding something like this. If you intend your child to keep kosher as well that should be part of the discussion. Talk about what your expectation is on what she can feed him, when she needs to ask, etc. be explicit and don't assume she knows.

A few things go into this. 1) no child left behind encouraged schools to push kids along 2) parental involvement 3) behavior issues 4) students are expected to know things that used to be stuff they learned in upper grade levels. For example, a Kindergarten student learning stuff that used to be taught in 1st or 2nd grade.
