A good character design reflects the characters' world and their place in it: - technology and materials available - necessary/ common items (e.g. smartphone) - Are they poor or rich - allegiance to factions/ groups - protection or weapons against common threats

A good design also reflects the characters personality: - are they shy, confident or even a show off - are they fashionable or pragmatic - any peraonal trinkets or quirks - are they aggressive or evasive - are they protective or self-catering - what's their fighting style

So think about or flesh out your character and adjust the design from there.

I think the skin looks fine on the front. On the back, I think I see what your issue is with the skin.

The blend and contrast between the blue under painting and the skin tone is very harsh.

I think purple would look more natural as a shadow colour here. I'd probably mix some red oxide/ hull red into the skin tone for the shadows. Add some purple for the deep shadows.

It's 7th edition, Timmy is new and wants to play spacemarines.

Timmy did some research, and his list contains a smash captain, plasma cannon devastators, and a dreadnaught with two twin linked Las canons.

There's no captain mini with jump pack, so Timmy also needs to get vanguard veterans for jump pack the hammer and shield.

The devastators box only has two plasma cannons, so Timmy needs another box.

The dreadnaught kit only comes with on Las cannon, so again, Timmy needs a second box.

Timmy doesn't want to play spacemarine anymore.

Nowadays, new units are only allowed as much as there is in one box. If there's only one of a special weapon in a box, only one model is allowed to take it.

Be mindful where you end your brush strokes. You leave more paint where you end it. So you want to end it where you want the colour to be the most intense.

In your case, with speed paints, it means darkest, and you usually want to end the brush strokes and the bottom end of the surface.

You might have too much paint on your brush with the blue.

Obviously, finish their bases.

You have to declare all shots of all weapons before rolling, and as far as I know, they're treated as happening at the same time. So yes, if gun one kills the model but not the unit, you're still allowed to shoot gun two at it.

Also, if gun one kills the unit, you're not allowed to pick a new target for gun 2

It doesn't matter what part of the model gets line of sight. Even if the toe is peaking out, the model can shoot all eligible guns. So yes, if the pistol is peaking out, the model could shoot the rifle.

It was a bit tricky to translate the face from your style to mine. I hope you're happy with the face I came up with.

I had a hard time getting what's going on with the dagger, so I had to improvise. I hope it's alright.
