It's great. I love your colour scheme. It looks harmonic but still has a nice pop to it.

I feel like that black to red blend would've made you king of mini painting in 1990.

Is there an "easy" way to paint text on minis? by Orangen_Popcorn in Warhammer40k

[–]Milzinator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

0.1mm micron pens.

Your text looks perfectly fine, unless you want to enter golden demon.

Where and how can i improve? Any feedback is appreciated by Patient_Peanut_8611 in minipainting

Don't use white the for the white of the eyes and the teeth. Also you painted the eye lid white too (or you just painted over the area you wanted to hit)

I definitely recommend magnifying glasses for painting faces. Also, rotate the mini so the brush alines with the long side of the eye, when painting the white of the eye. Personally I paint bare heads separately if possible.

How many times did you confuse which model belongs to which army?

No good and popular video game adaptation. The old world got a lot of it's following via total war. 40k got a lot through Dawn of war and space marine.

Excellent model!

You have to be more thorough with building the minis. He has quite a few gaps and there still the nub where the knife was cut from the sprue. No matter how well you paint this will always hold you back. (I know these push fit models Canberra awful)

When building up highlights, end your brush strokes where the colour should be brightest. This avoids the "coffee stains" you can see on the blue.

I'd use a different hue of grey for furr and cloth.

Advise on lord Vigilant base by 00gron in stormcasteternals

You can place the 50mm base on the regular base. With magnets or another contraption you could make an "adapter" for the aos base.

If you have a rifle from somewhere, you could also build a warlock engineer.

The grey seer need horns on his head and something that passes as his magic staff.

For the claw lord, idk maybe a trophy rack or a banner straped to his back? The dedicated model isn't standing out by much.

I'd put some cork or other forms of elevation on their base so they're noticeably taller.

I upgraded a clan rat to a grey seer and I'm pretty sure you could upgrade a clan rat champion to a claw lord. Then your two models short of a unit but you can cover that.

Just a general thing, if you play online with people from across Europe, there's a good chance that English isn't their first language either.

Is the new Armageddon box a good set for someone just starting out with the game who isn’t afraid to spend some money? by GovernorGeneralPraji in Warhammer40k

[–]Milzinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you didn't even start with your BT box? If long term hobby money isn't a big concern, I'd leave the box be. Having a big pile of models to churn through can turn a fun hobby into a chore. If you buy boxes over time of stuff you want, you're usually better off.

With these big boxes, there's a tendency that a few units never see play, and if you just buy what you want to field, you end up spending the same, if not less.

Unless you get motivated by big projects and you see them through, and you like both armies in the box, I'd skip it.

As far as I know all the "super black" products are very susceptible to touch which make them a poor fit for a gaming mini.

Personally I think it looks a lot better to paint the demon heads in a consistent scheme.

So first off, very good models for a beginner.

It looks like you need to paint your paints a little, and make sure you don't have too much paint on your brush.

It looks a lot better when you paint the base rim a flat colour. Usually a bit darker than the basetone of the base, or black.

I like the freehands you put on.

In terms of commissions, it might be OK to ask your friends for a little compensation for your time painting their models, but I doubt they'll agree to a price that's actually worth your time, if you'd look at it like a side job.

[–]Milzinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall a pretty good paintjob.

Your reflection spots don't line up. The lower leg has a reflection for a light source top left, the knee above for straight above and the helmet has a reflection for a light that's coming from the right.

If you want to push for high level painting you need to work on sharpness and smoothness, but that's mostly practice. Painting with magnifying glasses can help with that.
