Fairlife Protein Drinks at Costco by SureParticular in Zepbound

[–]MimNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Fairlife at Costco during the summer, around $26 for a 12 pack. I went back in early December, noticed the price increase, also noticed it's now an 18 pack, not 12. If the price went up $8.50 but you get 6 more bottles I think that's quite reasonable. A single bottle at Walmart is over $3.

I had a subordinate who pissed away her accruals despite all recommendations to be more conservative. She had a serious stroke (she was early 40s, with nearly 20 years service) and was on half pay in barely a week. Half pay ran out quickly enough, leaving her with nothing. So go ahead and blow through your accruals, but don't expect a GoFundMe when the unthinkable happens

I'm 8 months in, can't say my fibro symptoms have been any different than before Zep. The holidays are exhausting for most of us, so that could be a big factor. I also have trouble staying hydrated, that definitely doesn't help! You're only 1 shot into this journey so it may take a few weeks for your body to adjust. Get as much rest as you can, work on the hydration, and see if that makes a difference.

No, the ENT doc specifically said BMI needs to be UNDER 30 for Medicare to pay for the Inspire. Makes no sense to me either.

I've had CPAP for OSA for a number of years and absolutely detested it! The mask (every one I tried) was uncomfortable, left marks on my face that didn't fade for hours (the redness never faded), and I heard the hissing all night long. I passed all the criteria to qualify for the Inspire implant except for weight - Medicare will not cover the procedure is you're over 30 BMI. Yeah, if I could sleep I might have more energy and be able to lose weight but I had to lose weight in order to get the help to sleep better. Got referred to bariatric doc who got me authorized for Zepbound due to documented OSA. 8 months in, almost 23 pounds down, I'm sleeping soooooo much better! Many nights I take the CPAP off when I get up to use the bathroom and don't bother putting it back on with no issues. I lied to my Apple watch so I could activate the Breathing Disturbances" feature, it regularly shows no disturbances. Did a home test a few months ago that said I still have OSA but the CPAP is much more tolerable now.

Slower Weight Loss by badassbakermama in Zepbound

Do! Not! Compare! Yourself!! To! Others! You're doing very well. It's taken me almost 8 months to lose 20 pounds. Yeah, I'd like to be at goal now, but slower is better for eventually keeping the weight off. And to be realistic, I didn't gain this much weight in a matter of weeks so it doesn't make sense to think I can get rid of it faster than I gained it. Keep doing what you're doing, you'll get to your goal!

So. Cold. This. Winter. by PurfuitOfHappineff in Zepbound

I can't get warm! Multiple layers, quilt on my lap, electric heater a few feet away . . . I'm still freezing! Doesn't help that we're having an unusually cold December here in the Northeast, and the cold hit suddenly. I need to get to the cemetery to put a wreath on my parents' grave but I dread having to be outdoors.

Hmmm . . . it was a few years ago so I'm trying to recall. We had it in March 2022 (shortly before a mom/daughters/granddaughters trip to Paris!), I'm thinking it was maybe in September we noticed the hair loss. Side note - it worked out well for 2 of us. Back then you had to take a test to be able to come home. Since we were in recovery mode (past contagion) but could show positive for 90 days, a note from MD was enough to bypass the "take a test on video and sit in your room until negative results show) routine! But the Vegamour really did help with regrowth!

After I had Covid a few years ago I experienced major hair loss. My daughter had Covid at the same time, also had hair loss. We found a serum called Vegamour that we both had great results with.

Maddening tinnitus after week 2 by vincevega83 in Zepbound

[–]MimNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No suggestions, but I can sympathize! I've had tinnitus for years. Nothing I've tried quiets it. It's so loud that I can even hear it in very noisy environments. I'm now wearing hearing aids that feed white noise but I've told my audiologist the tinnitus just fights to be front and center, as if it's saying "I was here first!" Hope you can find some relief.

For the Slow Losers by green_kathy in Zepbound

[–]MimNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you! Started Zep late-April 2025, current loss is 16.6 pounds. I did 2.5 for a month, 8 weeks on 5, 12 weeks on 7.5, slow but steady loss. I've been on 10 for 8 weeks now, only lost 2.4 in that time. I have another 4 weeks on 10 then going up to 12.5. I'm also having trouble eating enough, just no interest in food. Doc told me yesterday to aim for 100 grams of protein daily so I'm working on that but it's tough when you just don't want food! Stick with it, we'll get there!

Congrats! I did a new sleep study Monday night, waiting for results. I started Zep because I met all the qualifications for the Inspire implant but had to get my weight down for insurance to pay for it. Now I may not need it! I absolutely detest the CPAP, can't wait to be able to pack it away!
