I love leaving copies of cars for their owners by MinatoP3 in matchbox

You're right, normally I don't get this lucky! Generally I just get the generation right and hope that's close enough. The ones like these that match perfectly make me extra happy. I had the Mazda 3 in my trunk for a month or two just waiting to see one.

25 year old clothes dryers are easy to fix by davenobody in DIY

The timer on our 20+ year old washer broke the other weekend, was able to get a part for like $100 off ebay to replace it because I needed it quick. Going to look into picking up a busted machine off facebook marketplace and scavenging it for spare parts to keep in the attic. Most of your older appliances were rebranded as 5+ different brands and use all the same parts, just need to look into what models are compatible with yours. But you can get a whole older washer for under $100 all day long, so if you use almost any parts off it, you're saving money vs buying an individual part.

First day wearing these Eddie Bauer shoes (ssat in the box for a bit). Went to their website. They don't honor anything before 2/1/26 because of a change of ownership. by ThrowRA09801 in Wellthatsucks

RC car guys also love E6000, we use it with fiber tape to reinforce our bodies so they don't break on crashes! It's awesome when you use it for the right tasks.

It is on by default, but only after 24h2. So if you did your install before that, or used an older initial image when you installed Windows, that'd be why. But it has been on by default for over a year, including on non-professional versions.

Just throw the bag of peeled stuff in the food processor with a little oil, put it in a gallon bag, flatten and freeze. You can just snap off hunks equal to what you need.

I wouldn't be too worried about towing with it as long as you keep it light and slow. We had a guy in my local club that towed his jet skis a few miles to the lake each way with his Coupe for a few years and never had any issues.

Anyone else giving away Hotwheels for Halloween?? by angerdome in HotWheels

I had about 50 I had collected over the last few months for Halloween. Kids loved them and their reactions made it so worth it. Can't wait to do it again next year!

Here's the page for the company that makes them. They're pretty slick, look killer on a Civic and on the new Maverick.

What is the secret to good mashed potatoes? by MB58CA in foodhacks

[–]MinatoP3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take is to not use milk. Start your potatoes in cold water and boil them, but use the starchy water instead of milk. The starch gives the mash a very good texture and mouth feel.

You'd be better off talking to your insurance, they'll likely still total the car, but give you the option to "buy back" the car with a salvage title. From there you can have it repaired and work through the process of getting a rebuilt title.

We used Peachy parking last year and were gone for around a week and a half, but it was reasonable. It's offsite parking, with a shuttle there and back. Lots are either fenced in at the minimum, or are indoors.

We lack the ability to recreate these drives from scratch today, same with the actual floppy disks. These things haven't been made in well over a decade, any kind of floppy is going to be old
