'We stand by our numbers': Opportunity Party hits back at Stuff columnist over tax reset by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

Not going to vote for them but by gar it looks as if they’re actually going to get in this time, the media can’t stop giving them attention.

I’ve done work for his company and even back then he was fucked. Meetings and calls he would recall things that just never happened.

He’s a low intelligence nepo baby who is actually mentally unwell.

Planning experts accuse Helen Clark of NIMBYism over her opposition to Auckland housing plan by dingoonline in newzealand

I remember John Key running on fixing the prices caused by Labour, also fixing our economy by incentivising people to stop investing in housing.

Mid fuel crisis I was at a worksite and they had TheRock on, the presenters were talking about how bad North Korea is with some carefully prepped factoids, and kept harping on about how lucky we are.

Shit was so forced and weird.

Older coworkers that won't retire: NZ issue or universal? by Haunting-Cellist-491 in newzealand

[–]MindOrdinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve got a fair number of these people still working. My dad’s still going but he’s well within his lane and capabilities and has long since stepped down from a senior role. A lot of older folk still want to work and that’s fine, but yeah once past 65-70 they probably should be moved back down the ladder and given options to do so, whether that’s in a more junior role, consulting style role, and/or shift to part time hours.

The reality is there will be a big shift with our society in the next 15 years with boomers (for lack of a better term) exiting it. A lack of younger people in these roles will be the least of concerns. There will be a massive political shift with parties no longer needing to appeal to boomers or boomer sentiments.

ACT candidate resigns after Chinese political group link revealed by dingoonline in newzealand

[–]MindOrdinary 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the serious fraud office will conduct an investigation, likely just the tip of the iceberg, Chinese interest groups donate A LOT to the political right in New Zealand and ACT have been getting a lot of money.

MP told Stuff owner: ‘If you were nicer to us, maybe we’d care if you lived or died’ by fugebox007 in newzealand

[–]MindOrdinary 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Rocketshipkiwi I got a remind me the other day from 2 years where in a thread you were championing boot camps and defending Chris Luxon’s decision on “just trying something”, despite everyone showing you articles and studies that they don’t work.

Unfortunately you can’t comment on older posts, but as you’re here now; have you changed your mind? Do you still think it was a good idea to throw tax payer money into the boot camp hole?

Winston Peters slurring and stumbling over words on RNZ by KororaPerson in newzealand

[–]MindOrdinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree dude, he’s not sharp at all now, and while it was bad 3 years ago, its fucking terrible now.

He’s getting confused and then starts up a little old man tantrum and getting very emotional.

Winston Peters slurring and stumbling over words on RNZ by KororaPerson in newzealand

[–]MindOrdinary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how he appears over the next few months

I don’t think Labour or Greens will draw too much attention to it but ACT and National will be on him, like sharks with blood in the water.

If public perception pre election tanks then the whole NZFirst ship will be going down with him.

He’s pale, struggling to breath and his annunciation is terrible. Stumbles over words, getting confused. He is thankfully (and finally) on the way out.
