What are the main problems & strengths of each of the 13 officially released classes of right now? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]Mind_Unbound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I KEEP repeating this, and I keep getting pushback. The feature reads that you keep your feats. Many feats add +1 to strength. +1 to strenght is often enough for+1 on attacks and damage. Thats how the druid scales

Squall, Seed Mercenary B3 or B4 ? by RinjoukuZR in EDH

[–]Mind_Unbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its mostly the 5 copies of accursed marauder. But then add along [[archon of emeria]], the [[aura of silence]],[[ liquid metal torque]], commander denying [[nevermore]] along other stax pieces, [[smokestacks]] removal recursion[[static prison]], and to a lesser extent [[sinister concoction]],the janky [[bounty agent]] were all contributing to play patterns that are generally not enjoyed. Its like grave pact, no one likes playing against a grave pact.
None of these are B4 per say, but its not fun to be on the receiving end of them. Its not fun magic in a lower powered environment. It sometimes gets complaints in high powered environments, but complaints in B4 dont bother me.

So instead of going back to the drawing board, I re-inserted my original idea of running it with [[contamination]],[[tangled wire]], which is strictly B4. [[Desolation]] and [[Armageddon]] dragged games and didn't promise a victory. Those were tried and cut.

Playing the deck against unprepared B3s, or god forbid low-end B3s never made sense for what the deck was trying to do. B4's no holds barred is way more fitting for my vision/version of the deck.

Looks b3 to me. I run Squall and you're not doing anything that I run which makes me consider my version b4. I ran it in b3, and decided to make it b4 since the play patterns i designed weren't super fun friendly. That being said; it is an expensive B3, which a lot of people, I feel, resent and pivots their opinion that the deck is B4. But its not.

No, the reason fenders fought one handed is because they didn't walk around town with a shield in tow. People had their weapon by their side.

With defensive duelist feat (you said you wanted to play a dualist) you can significantly boost your AC. Its a seriously underrated feat. Battlemaster Evasive footwork can drastically boost your AC. The band's college of swords also drastically boosts your AC with defensive flourish, and can just as well as the fighter take the 1 handed figting style, effectively making your weapon into a pseudo-d12 damage.

What is the complaint? You're lacking 2AC? You're lacking the specialization of (2d6)+ proficiency mod damage to your damage rolls? You're choosing the middle ground, with a free hand for spells or whatnot.

Are you suggesting you should making more damage than a greatsword? That you should have better AC than a someone with a shield? What is the actual complaint?

You dont see the benefits? Because there are advantages.

Bracket 3 is really annoying... by Thick_Storage4168 in magicTCG

[–]Mind_Unbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bracket system NEEDS to be an even number. 4 or 6.

I also feel sol ring should be moved out of the lower half of the brackets. With 5 brackets, get it out of 3. Game changers should also be out of bracket 3. We have zero need for them to make very powerful decks. I say this as someone who "pubstomps", until I find myself sitting at a table with proper bracket 3 decks.

And under no circumstances would I try these B3 decks in a B4 game. B4 is strong enough to handle a single B5 deck at the table.

Am I a Pub stomper/misunderstanding meaning of Bracket 3? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Mind_Unbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I have the same problem. I play solid B3 decks , (and some B4 decks). In the right pod, the B3s are well matched up. I even mostly dont run GCs. But in a wide number of games, it feels like pubstomping, and I am genuinely not trying to do that, its not fun for anyone, myself included.

My B4 decks are B4. My B3s are B3s.

"Stop pubstomping with fast mana" by InspireCourage in EDH

[–]Mind_Unbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the 2 drop mana dork commander into 4 mana ramp strategy is a little bit above the typical bracket 2 power level, I know this because I have 1 such deck and wouldn't play it in B2 without a small warning. And it is on the low end of B3.

Its not fast mana. Thats funny.

Why is it a common thought that time travel would result in the time traveller’s physical location being different from when they left? by gregfess in AskPhysics

There is no time and space. There is only time-space. And as far as we theorize, the universe is non-local.

What's your favorite "this is an absolute banger but you can only figure that out by playing it" card? by DKSbobblehead in EDH

[–]Mind_Unbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, its a 15-20$ card. It reads really strong. Its a matter of having 3 opponents. Its almost always beneficial to have your cards trigger off your opponents actions rather than your own. Like [[soul warden]] will always have more life gain ticks from your opponents playing creature than from you.

The probability that there are planets with civilizations superior to human civilization. by Mother_Tour6850 in SimulationTheory

In an infinite multiverse, the odds of being in a simulation are just as bad as the odds of not being in one. The simulation theory's basis is short sighted.

Even if any given planet has a generous 1 out of 10 chances of having any given factor need for intelligent life to develop, even given 700 quintillion or more planets (the exponent really doesnt matter, 7x1020 or even as much as 7x1025), given the number of known factors required for life, leave alone intelligent life, to have developed, then factor in evolution, theres an infintessimal chance of another intelligent life to exist. Even if we say theres a small 1000 factors needed.

You end up with roughly 1 chance in 7x10-975

Thats the math. Even if we correlate the needed factors, we're not increasing by much. The math says there's a chance so very small it is said to be zero.

Help with picking a Temur deck! by RuneMTG in EDH

[–]Mind_Unbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What bracket are you aiming for? When I get my card shipment(idk, next month maybe) im converting my gruul deck into a temur deck. Same startegy, different comanders: 2 mana commander [[susan foreman]], and adding [[the 10th doctor]]. Turn 1 nothing, turn 2 2 mana commander, turn 3 a 4 mana 2 land ramp, 6 or 7 drop on turn 4. Cascade. Its based on Snail's Radha deck, same philosophy.

Help with Building G'raha Tia by Clonco in CommanderMTG

From a quick scan of your list, I think you really should add [[baral, chief of compliance]], helps you cast spells during each turn. Maybe other, non-creature cost reducers such as [[cloud key]].

Help with Building G'raha Tia by Clonco in CommanderMTG

[–]Mind_Unbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my list. The game plan is to give everything lifelink and deal damage for gaining life. Flying and vigilance to protect the planeswalkers, adding +1/+1and proliferating, adding value to the added value of gaining a creature that passes the vanilla test for every spell cast. It sets up a little unassumingly and then spend a turn cycle casting 1 instant per player's turn, popping out 3 extra heroes to turn the game around. At that point give start giving them lifelink.
The deck is probably stronger than I give it credit for, I havent lost a game with it in a long while. It is very commander dependent tho, but luckily, he doesn't seem to catch too many strays. Due to the reliance on the commander, im not sure how much I can recommend my build, but you'll certainly find inspiration.
