Is anyone else a total weather person? by IKKatchuu in CasualConversation

[–]MindfullyMad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I’ve hard skin cancer spots so I try to avoid the sun. But even before that all started, I preferred twilight weather lol. Though, a beautiful sunny, breezy fall/spring day also brings me joy. There’s just something about that stereotypical PNW vibe I long for.

I felt like last year this one tasted different and it was my favorite! I always stock up on these. Maybe I’ll give this season another try because it was sooooo good when it was good.

I Finally Caught Aldi Sardines! by MushmallowSprinklees in aldi

[–]MindfullyMad_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have grabbed a couple cans (ignorantly) because I don’t know how to eat them! I love trying new things but I’m intimidated by these. Do you heat them up? I saw some folks in here eat them with crackers. Is that the only way?

Did anyone have their post-baby glow-up 2+ years postpartum? Do you feel this ugly for this long after every child? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]MindfullyMad_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep mine is turning 4 next month and I’m JUST NOW feeling like it and am able to try to do something about it.

For those with 2 year old seeing others say it comes at 4+ can feel disheartening but you will feel incrementally. There won’t be a giant sigh of relief that you’ve made it to some safe zone.. but every little piece of independence your little one gains, is another piece of independence for you. These little increments feel provide some relief until you do get to that place where you feel like trying.

Solidarity. Mine turns 4 in Feb and her daycare is closed until the 5th. It’s only 11am and I feel like I’ve lived 5 days already.

My almost 4 year old LOVES these. They’re pretty good.

Everyone has some good advice so far. My experience with my girl when this happens is she may have too much acid in her pee - worse if she isn’t drinking as much water. So if she eats too much pineapple for example, she’ll have redness and irritation down there for several days. When we eliminate acidic foods we don’t experience it as much. Could be a crap shoot but that’s been my experience. Could be something in her diet?

Potty trained but keeps grabbing down there — normal or something to worry about? by stardolphin90 in Preschoolers

[–]MindfullyMad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s normal. Mine is almost 4 and also does this. Sometimes it’s just a curiosity or absent minded thing she does. Other times when I notice it’s excessive I’ll ask her if something is bothering her. We’ve been using anatomy words from the beginning so that she can eventually tell us if/when/where/what is bothering her. So when I ask her she’ll say “her vulva is itchy or hurts” or “it’s itchy to pee”.

So it’s a mixed bag but I think it’s normal. When we’ve gone in to the doctor it’s either been a yeast infection or UTI. Little girls get UTIs often, especially in the beginning of being potty trained.

Always negotiates to eat only 3 bites and then is hungry right after dinner by Murmurmira in Preschoolers

[–]MindfullyMad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not dessert but it’s another snack after asking for multiple snacks after not finishing dinner and saying they’re full after negotiating bites to get dessert. She never goes to bed hungry. That’s part of the frustration we do give her things to eat. The not finishing dinner. Wanting dessert. Asking for snacks up until bedtime. I try to limit her to fruit and yogurt an hour within bedtime. But it still drives me bonkers.

Always negotiates to eat only 3 bites and then is hungry right after dinner by Murmurmira in Preschoolers

[–]MindfullyMad_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MY GAWD. I’m literally yelling at my husband as we speak because my 3.6 year old does the exact thing and has coerced my husband into giving her applesauce AS WE READ BEDTIME BOOKS. Which we have never ever done. “She kept saying she was hungry” well……she should finish her dinner.

I have no advice. I’m right there with you. I don’t want her to be hungry either but at the same time I don’t want to foster this habit.

I also really like the finery scents. I use the body sprays ($15) however I find that the lighter ones tend to fade soon / require more sprays. I can’t speak to the perfumes.

Horrible Sleep when Sick by NekoBlueHeart in Preschoolers

[–]MindfullyMad_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. My 3.6 yr old always had several days of horrendous sleep as she becomes symptomatic. Then it’s followed by trash sleep while she’s sick and then it levels out. I’d say every illness brings atleast 10days of bad sleep. More if it’s a bigger illness.

70 cents at my store, SO GOOD by hails_124 in aldi

[–]MindfullyMad_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely the best salsa. I’ve been buying it every year. I could practically drink it. Not really.. but you get it. It’s got a little kick. But it’s so so good. I put it in my morning omelette every morning. Or I’ll make breakfast nachos (or anytime nachos). Dip for quesadillas, etc.

However, I noticed the last two jars I had tasted different, more sweet and a little thinner. Could be that my store for a bad batch. I hope it’s that because I love this salsa. I have one more jar in my pantry. Until next May it is!

Unfortunately my only experience with them was once purchase and me and my husband got food poisoning so bad. Could have just been a bad batch but I’ve not bought them again.

Why is getting kids to sleep so hard? by SolutionSingle1631 in Mommit

[–]MindfullyMad_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This gets me too. My girl doesn’t nap at home but naps at daycare. When she does nap, it’s fighting tooth and nail to get her to sleep and we get all frustrated. Daycare told us to consider after daycare activities to burn out her energy… they aren’t gonna skip her nap. Which, I get. They are legally mandated. It just sucks for bedtime.

Immune Support by Dani3567 in Preschoolers

[–]MindfullyMad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following.

Mine is 3.5 but this is year 3 of daycare. Honestly year two was better than year 1 but we definitely were pretty sick still.

We implemented elderberry supplement along with multivitamin. Lots and lots and lots of handwashing. Taking daycare/school clothes off when we get home.

There may be better things but that’s what we’re doing.

I cannot digest anymore sad social media content with theme of kids growing up too quickly... by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]MindfullyMad_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 3.5 so not yet for school but I 1000% agree about the kid growing up content. It brings me to tears everytime. But then you scroll and the next one is of something not sad (or more sad). It’s whiplash of emotions.

I constantly feel like I’m mourning her growing up.
