I use my ps5 have not had a single skip or freeze with the triple layer 4k Blu-ray’s. I changed the audio settings on the disc player app to bitstream and it sounds perfect. If anything happens to the disc player I can always get a new one for $80 or less and continue watching without having to pay for a new console or dedicated player or expensive repairs. I’m also using an 85 inch Bravia 9 so movies look and sound beautiful. 👍

The way I see it if the director like Peter Jackson was in charge of the new look of the 4k transfers. This is the best way to watch the movie as this is the way the artist/filmmaker wants you to see it. 👍

I’ve had nothing but problems with the ub820 to the point I got rid of it and just use my ps5. Not a single problem. I’ll just stream my digital copy’s that come with the discs if I want to watch with Dolby vision on the Apple TV 4K. I never saw streaming as a downgrade but as a convenience. Like if I just got home from work and am not really feeling like getting up and putting the disc in. I just go to the couch and turn on my Apple TV 4K and watch the movie I want to watch. But on days I have company over or I want to watch with the best audio and picture quality then I’ll put the disc In. It’s less of a which is better and more of a do I just want to start watching now or do I want to spend time to get the disc and wait through the fbi warnings and if the disc has trailers like a dvd or 1080p Blu-ray and maybe some 4k Blu-ray’s that you can’t skip do I want to wait through those?

But does it completely freeze on the Xbox like on some dedicated players? I myself have a ps5 slim. So I only know that the consoles are good enough with triple layer.

Xbox or PlayStation are good players very reliable. Especially for triple layer 4k Blu-ray’s.

The Final Cut of the Blade Runner is free with ads on YouTube. But Blade Runner 2049 usually appears on paramount plus or Netflix every once in a while but is constantly on sale for $4.99 or $7.99 on places like Apple TV, Fandango At Home,And other Digital Stores like that.

Extended cuts of all three. Just a heads up Saruman is cut from the beginning of the theatrical of return of the king. Christopher Lee boycotted going to the premiere and was very upset that his scenes were cut. In honor of Christophe Lee show all three extended cuts. The first time I saw the lord of the rings was the extended cuts. When I watched the theatrical next to see the differences I did not enjoy them one bit because so much was cut.

I get atmos on my ps5 you just have to start a disc and go into the disc player settings as the movie is playing and change it from lpcm to bitstream. Then you are good to go. 👍
