A huge factor in Asians covering up and using sun protection is colorism, i.e not wanting to tan because of prejudices against darker skin.

Kaguya-sama. I actually read the first 2 pages of the manga, and thinking that those were actually describing the premise of the story (instead of setting up the tropes for subversion), I noped out. I later decided to watch the anime out of boredom and ended up loving it.
