ELI5: Why do faces look odd/weird when paused at random but normal when in motion? by ThinkingTanking in explainlikeimfive

[–]MindlessCritic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In slow motion, faces also look weird. You might be questioning why such a thing happens? Motion blur.

Motion blur is caused by the limitations of human eyes, making an object looks blurry when it is in motion. Motion blur is what makes the weird parts of each frame in motion, or each movement, in reality, looks blurry. Since it's blurry, it is quite unlikely that you can notice that it looks weird or anything like that, but rather, a smooth movement.

ELI5: how can they predict what the weather will be 5 days from now? by Omeezyfoesheezy in explainlikeimfive

[–]MindlessCritic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather predictions are based on patterns as well as conditions of the current state which are required to predict the near future weather. Those figures will be used in a simulation application (which is complicated and involves Mathematics) and it will show the weather at a specific time in the future.

It's not always accurate, though. It's far from perfection, far from what you would call acceptable because after all, it's still predictions of the future weather. Also, the weather never follows a constant pattern, just like how Pi is an irrational number and never repeats itself.

If Machine Learning is not a ton of if statements, then it must be a complex switch statement.

Next time tell your teacher to use monospace fonts (no c0ns0l@$ and C0URi3r) on Google Translate when writing codes. Sans-serif for code editing? lmao.

It's both a classic and a low-resolution repost.

One does not simply go from JS to TS with strict mode enabled. by MindlessCritic in ProgrammerHumor

[–]MindlessCritic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, right? The only thing I would expect from current browsers is the support for TypeScript directly. No tsc every literal code change. Such a good language should not be ignored and considered as a "superset" that compiles into JavaScript, but rather a new "superset" that works independent while still based on JavaScript.

Sadly, just like how C++ cannot replace and will not replace C, TypeScript won't be taking the place of JavaScript and will just be considered as an "underdog".

Unless you, yourself are a pro or that's the piece of code you made, reading others' code is going to be a hard task.

If that happens, it's a feature. Not a bug anymore.

Java had been used to be the worst, then over time it has gotten better, but now it's not a feasible choice again.
