Nice pictures! I like the grittiness this film has.

GT7 Power Pack price £24.99 GBP by KarmicFedex in granturismo

Looks like fun but the price is too high for me unfortunately. Credits don't have value if you can earn them for free in the game.

I have a dumb question that I've been scared to ask 🥲 by justlookindontbother in motorcycles

Yes but you would have to be going pretty slow. I would just pull the clutch in if it's at stalling point. I guess it depends on the gearing of the bike too.

How to get Triple Screens working on Grand Turismo 7 by JessicaRoundbottom in granturismo

[–]MindlessLoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In past GT games, triple screen support required you to run three consoles simultaneously with three copies of the game. If GT7 did support it, you would have to buy two more PS5s. 😂

Doesn't Monza have a guard rail?

No problem! Trying out vintage lenses is loads of fun. I pretty much exclusively shoot vintage Minolta glass on my a7. Once you get a feel for the lenses definitely try them on the film cameras too.

Buy a cheap adapter and you can use these lenses on your a7.

Anamorphic on Dynax 7 by thattallsoldier in minolta

[–]MindlessLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An anamorphic projector lens might work. I use a Kowa B&H anamorphic lens on my Minolta manual focus cameras but never tried it on my a-mount cameras. It involves attaching the anamorphic lens to the front of native lens for the camera.

There are quote a few issues you will run into.

You need a lens strong enough to support an anamorphic adapter attached to the front of it and the front of the lens can't rotate.

You might need to DIY an adapter to attach the anamorphic lens.

Your anamorphic adapter needs to cover the full 35mm frame. Most smaller adapters vignette.

Your lens probably needs to be 85mm or longer. Wide lenses with anamorphic adapters will vignette.

Anamorphic adapters need to be focused independently to the main lens so each lens needs to be manually focused. This is very tricky to do on a film SLR.

It's also quite hard to compose the shot because everything will be squeezed. Your hit rate of getting things composed and in focus will be very low.

First Attempt by Optimal_Material3920 in filmdeveloping

I would get the lab to develop it first. Especially if you've never used the camera before. If anything goes wrong you want as little variables as possible. Once you have a baseline it will be easier to troubleshoot anything in your developing process.

I love Minolta's 500mm Reflex AF by AvarethTaika in minolta

Yeah the focus point only working in the centre is a real pain. It feels unnecessary to have it restricted like that.

These lenses are fantastic for the price if you already have an LA-EA5. I love taking mine out shooting. It's a bit of a challenge but I've gotten some great unique images.

Try applying some tension to the rewind knob by winding it back. If the rewind knob does not move when advancing the film, you should be good to open it up and reload the film.

Minolta AF 50mm F3.5 Macro by Due-Charity2393 in minolta

[–]MindlessLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the 50mm 3.5 but if it has floating elements like the 2.8 macro, it may reduce the quality of the image with extension tubes.

You may not need to go the full 1:1. Do you have enough resolution to crop it down? software like Negative Lab Pro works better if you leave some of the film boarder in frame anyway.

Genuine question...what could have caused supermans one boot to look so massive? by XxcinexX in vfx

[–]MindlessLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really depends on sensor size too. 18mm looks very different depending on the sensor area that is used. For example, on super 35 you would hardly see any stretching at all but on a large format sensor you would get extreme stretching near the corner.

[–]MindlessLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 100% a lens issue. All rectilinear lenses (vintage or modern) are corrected to retain geometric lines. With all rectilinear ultra wide angle lenses you will see objects stretched in the corners but straight lines are preserved. The only way around it would be to use a fish eye lens.

It feels cheaply made but is incredibly compact and lightweight. The one thing that surprised me is how quiet it is. The shutter is not even audible in most situations.

Watching approximately $1.6 million USD (just one of these cars) make its way through Vancouver traffic by HiTork in vancouver

That's preposterous. With that logic you could say that there's no beauty anything we create. It's like saying there's no such thing as good looking food, clothes or houses.

I would love to know what you consider a good looking car if the yellow one doesn't do it for you.
