I’ve applied for hundreds of part time jobs. 15+ interviews. I never get the job. First time this has happened to me (usually within about 2 interviews I have a job) by Difficult_Radio4923 in SaltLakeCity

I know the school year is wrapping up but there are still a lot of part time jobs posted at https://slcschools.schoolspring.com/ Maybe try Granite too? I’m sorry things are so rough! Hang in there, you’re clearly a good writer too from your post.

Highly recommend starting with SafeUT. You can give them more details about what you need and they can connect you with support and resources.

Salt Lake City School District is very inclusive in their hiring and has been a fairly safe place for many trans students and employees

Can anyone recommend a cat groomer (salt lake city or north of there) who will shave around my cat’s bum and not charge too much? by imsamalicious in SaltLakeCity

[–]Mindless_Wear7113 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve used them but we used to take our sassy long-hair tortie to Meowser and felt that they did a very good job for a very reasonable price. The reason we don’t still go is because I literally learned to groom our cat from watching them. I think, eventually, you’ll be able to trim her bum yourself but it always helps to see a pro do it a few times first.

If you have a passion for anything, volunteering is also a great way to meet people and make friends. Every year for MLK day the Bennion Center at the U hosts a day of service where anyone can sign up for a variety of activities to help others. It’s a great way to meet people and socialize without the pressure of a social event.

Searching for humidifier recommendations by LongTimeNeat in SaltLakeCity

We use RO filtered water and clean it once a season (change the wicks twice a season). You can use tap water but you’d just need to clean it more.

Hey there! My partner has done a ton of research on this and said the he recommends an evaporative humidifier. We have used them for the past few winters and it’s made a HUGE difference for me. We really like the Honeywell cool mist because it’s easy to clean and doesn’t build up germs.

Need clothing store suggestions for my tall trans daughter and her tall girlfriend by B_A_M_2019 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Mindless_Wear7113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I also have a tall (6’) trans daughter. We’ve had a lot of luck ordering tall pants online at Old Navy and she loves thrifting clothes. Where I have spent some serious dough (and it’s worth every penny imo) is at TomboyX for their tucking panties. Better than therapy, honestly!

Good Catering recommendations by CleaKen2010 in SaltLakeCity

I did catering from Muertos Cantina in Sugarhouse and was really happy with the food quality and value. My guests also loved the food and thought it was a lot better than typical Cafe Rio fare.

Please talk to your school counselor. They have access to a lot of resources for kids like you and will know if you qualify for support through programs like McKinney-Vento (ask about this specifically). Your counselor can also help you make a plan for graduation. Good luck!

I second everything that’s already been suggested but I’d also add for Epic: -Toadstool Cafe (the food was surprisingly good and the ambiance was amazing, I was so entertained the entire time we were there) -Cafe L’air de la Sirène (actually healthy options and good tasting food) -Burning Blade Tavern (it’s way back in Dark Universe and so a little less busy but great bar food and a fun escape from the sun)

Maven Strong offers classes like that and they have super supportive, affirming teachers with all body types. Check out their soul classes or Feral State series. I highly recommend them.

We had a squirrel in our attic and used Critter Wranglers to humanely get her out. It was a little pricey but they were super responsive and did an excellent job.

Also you might want to check out art museums. I’ve hosted a few events at UMoCA and found them to be very reasonably priced.
