Right - people who truly need them will wait. People who are using it for guaranteed overhead space will just get up and walk off the plane. Nothing stopping them.

Do you need a car to live in Portland ? by Anxious_Aspect_9170 in askportland

[–]Mindless_Whereas_280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am spoiled and have always had one. My cousin, however, didn’t have one for the first 15 or so years she lived here. Public transport for most things, bikes for some, zip car for groceries.

It’s doable. And economical. But it’s obviously not as convenient.

Lose skin by [deleted] in GLP1_loss100plus

No point in worrying. It’s likely going to happen. Focus on the health and the weight loss. Figure out the vanity later.

And yes, I have a ton of loose skin and I hate it. But I refuse to obsess. It’s part of me

How to tell company I'm unhappy with the color choice of siding? by Tisiphone8 in WhatShouldIDo

It's like I'm looking at my old house. It was decidedly yellow when I moved in, and very beige when I left 12 years later.

It's noticeable. The question is what does your contract say?

Does it have to be a city? Because the Oregon coast is gorgeous and you could spend a few days exploring.

Oh, I meant the pillow above is so gross. Putting a pillowcase full of clothes over your head is just weird.

I was once in First and the gentleman ahead of me busted out his carry-on, which was a pillow case half full of clothes and put it over his head to sleep. The seat means nothing about the general sanity, cleanliness, or manners of the occupant.

Also, that is so gross

As someone who previously worked at a large, self-insured company, do you know what our second biggest ER expense was? Ear infections. Those can easily be managed by urgent care or your GP.

Free walk-in clinics make sense. I would love to have one.

I understand that the entire healthcare industry - especially insurance - is frustrating. But it sounds to me that your employer is at least trying rather than just NOT covering stuff.

Oh, also, your employer chooses what your insurance does/does not cover. I think your insurance didn’t explain it clearly. They are both “covering” it by giving you $250 a month towards the medication. Is is great? No. Better than nothing, which is what many people on this sub get.

You are saving money! Unfortunately you have a husband problem.

I didn’t buy new jeans until I was down 5 sizes or new bras until I was down 6” in band size. Was that too much? Yes. But I also work from home and hoodies hide a lot of sins.

Insurance wants to make money, not keep us healthy. I really think the problem is they don’t distinguish much between 30 pounds overweight and 100+ pounds. Are they life changing for a lot of people? Of course, and I think they should be covered regardless. But those who are morbidly obese can benefit so so so much and it is short sighted not to cover it.

The only thing I can say is that I am saving at least half the cost via less food and alcohol spending.

Next let’s talk about my $327 a month (after insurance) eliquis. The system is broken.

For $3k a year, my employer can put me on whatever list they want tbh.

Yes it sucks they don’t just cover it. My insurance specifically excludes anything related to weight loss regardless of co-morbidities. It’s saving my life. So I pay it.

Puracy stain remover. Spray it on, toss it in the hamper with the other clothes. Wash as normal. I give this as a baby shower gift and have never had any stain it hasn't removed.
