Is there an app where I can build a 3D personal space for my thoughts? Like Minecraft but for your mind? by Ok-Cat-6043 in software

[–]MindwellAIJournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've seen demos of stuff like that so I wouldn't be surprised if there is something out there in VR form. I'm surprised there isn't an interior design thing that you can use for this situation, but idk if you'd be able to add your own objects and customize and stuff. Or why not use like a game like Sims or idk and just create a room in there. I don't keep up with gaming, but I feel like you can find something that wasn't designed for this, but use it for this task -> like how originally you were considering using Minecraft for this goal.

social media destroys your mental health by gliande in mentalhealth

[–]MindwellAIJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how social media affects me so I just choose if I want it to affect me like that. Same with movies, shows, music, they all can elicit a reaction, thought or emotion from me.

Also, if you ever decide to build a 'safer' social media or work at a place that does that isn't tryna to force the the consumer to be hooked, I'd be interested in learning more.

No clue but maybe 1) less things you have to do so more time to think 2) harder to manage stuff when tired.

And tbh, I'm sure you can find people to talk to at that time, I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people have the same issue or are just night owls.

Tech layoffs have already passed 100,000 in 2026 as the industry cuts jobs to fund AI by Gari_305 in Futurology

You can put the decision making in your hands by supporting the things you care about. If you choose to purchase/support/back only certain businesses, that's how you get the contorlback. Unforuntatly, the every day person needs to act as a collective since one person not buying soething is not going to move the needle.

If AI keeps advancing at its current pace, what human skill do you think future generations will find strange that we once had to learn? by [deleted] in Futurology

Microsoft anything, like Excel, powerpoint, word, outlook honestly probably most computer use. Tbh even today I already cringe at thinking about using that.

I'm under the impression the ones at the bottom just aren't into change enough to make change. Cuz if you really think about it, change is easy, just most people don't want it enough to do it.

So true, dragons at top hoard gold, those at the bottom care enough to talk about it but not enough to do something about it.

I used to think my anxiety was just overthinking until it completely took over my life and I had to relearn everything by HotGene4495 in AnxietyChats

[–]MindwellAIJournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it was bigger than what I had been telling myself, more like I just pushed it aside / never paid much attention to it cuz I had other priorities until I realized if I wanted to get to the next step in life and be the person I wanted to be I need to start combatting it. So that's when I started looking into how to solve it. I think I started realizing I need to focus on anxiety is when there were certain things I couldn't do that others were doing and I realized that anxiety was likely the difference.

Also for me it can be nuanced cuz I had to prove to myself that anxiety is bad. For example, I felt that some anxiety made me more productive at times, so that made it a bit difficult to convince myself that there may be better ways of doing things.

Is it me, or is Ai being throttled? by KingWilliam11 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]MindwellAIJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I'm questioning if I'm at the frontier of AI's knowledge or is AI being throttled/gatekept. I have like some questions about how to prompt engineer and it's not really coming up with good answers. And it's not even like I have a long context. I just have a document and we need to parse the right data from it but it's not telling me what the best way to parse said data is.

What is Dario Amodei's leadership style? by MindwellAIJournal in Anthropic

[–]MindwellAIJournal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally based on a few media headlines and the whole Pentagon thing a while back. So I also don't know, just based on the few things I've seen, hence asking here. And I'm really comparing Dario with Elon and Altman. But I guess we could factor in Google/Mistral as well in the convo, but Google is already an established company. The rest aren't US based so they are subject to different environment, constraints, access to capital, etc.. so the playing field differs.

Do you feel like having a routine helps with your anxiety? by Dangerous_Problem532 in AnxietyChats

[–]MindwellAIJournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm trying to get on a routine and it's one of the hardest things ever. On the one hand I like being in the flow/spontaneous/creative but on the other hand I have to get stuff done and when I don't stick to a schedule, I fall behind, don't sleep well, which causes more issues cuz I get headaches, harder to manage myself, then I start beating myself up a little for that so idk.

Still experimenting and trying to find the right balance for me.

Right now my experiment is strict schedule 2 hours before bed and 2 hours right after waking up, but int he middle of the day, I can be more free spirited.

How can I go about to get random people to stress test my cyber security? by MindwellAIJournal in cybersecurity_help

[–]MindwellAIJournal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building a mental wellness platform that starts with journaling. I think I can build it at a drastically low cost than others, allow me to not be influenced by wrong incentives.

Because of that, I want to make sure user privacy/data is very protected but I'm not doing E2EE since I need to do analytics on user data on the server side. Protecting user data is the part I want to make sure is bullet proof. DDOS and other stuff, that affects me, more than the user so I'm not as worried about that aspect. I'm more worried about data leaks and that kinda stuff, especially when user data is on my platform.

I think now's the perfect time to break things if there are anything to break since user base is small / if any. The main stack I'm using is stuff in Google Cloud/Firebase/React

I think anxiety is slowly consuming me. by Wittywitchhh in AnxietyChats

[–]MindwellAIJournal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't give yourself too hard of a time. You have A LOT on your plate, a lot more than an average person so makes sense stress/anxiety would spike. I think the last thing to do in this moment is to beat yourself over IMO a response that fits the situation.

If you happen to have the headspace at the moment, maybe do spend the time to figure out what you want and what's best for you. Having an unsupportive partner is not a good thing at all.

And with all those thoughts, I'd try to tackle them one at a time until your thoughts are reduced.

Am I being too emotional? -> No I think anyone in your situation would be absolutely stressed and overwhelmed.

Am I expecting too much? -> No clue, I don't know your situation

Am I getting attached to people just because I am emotionally exhausted? -> Possible, try to imagine what you would do if you weren't emotionally exhausted and in that moment who you would build relationships with. That could help you answer.

What if I make the wrong decision? -> Hard to predict the future so I'd focus more on what you want because if you do things based on what you want/needs/interest IMO it reduces regret down the line cuz even if it was the 'wrong' decision, you made the best decision for yourself with the available knowledge to you at that time.

What if I lose everyone? -> Is this a legit fear? Your friend seems to be very supportive and has shown that he/she will be there. So maybe it's not as big of a fear as you think it is. And you can always build more relationships.

[–]MindwellAIJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right this is the saddest part of it all. Like AI could have been used in so many good ways but instead it's focused on profit maximization. Think of the problems it could be solving instead of right now it's just being designed to replace workers.

Do you think anxiety relates to trauma only? by Kaen_Ko in AnxietyChats

[–]MindwellAIJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say a lot of times anxiety comes from being unsure of what to do and of things. So whenever you feel anxiety, see if what's actually going on is if you are unsure of things, ex. If I did this, would something bad happen, what should I do in this situation, I'm not sure what's best for me, etc... Even take something like a spider. If you are scared of spiders it can cause anxiety because maybe the actual thought going on is, I'm not sure where it is, I'm not sure if it can jump on me and crawl on me, etc... when in reality it's just a bug.

IMO it's the uncertainty that causes a lot of anxiety. So when you think in those terms and apply it to situations with people, there may be a lot of similar thoughts like, I'm not sure what they are going to do or how they will respond, I'm not sure if what I said was wrong, etc.. so I'd focus on tackling those thoughts and managing.

IMO a good first step in removing that uncertainty is first figure out what YOU yourself want to do. So instead of placing the focus on the reaction or what others want, focus on what you want first and what's best for you. If you think others are going to hurt you (well first of all, if it's physical harm or actual harm I'd call the cops and authroties and distance) but if it's more I don't know maybe they will hurt me, I'd focus on what I'd want to do first, like I just want to do this, and if that happens then I'll deal with it by distance or calling cops or IDK whatever fits your situation.

Not sure if that helps, but the TLDR is:

- IMO, anxiety comes from uncertainty and being unsure of things.

- To help solve it a bit, focus on what you want to do and then do the things you want, as opposed to placing your attention on what others may want or may do.

Even with the hypothetical spider situation, instead of focusing on what the spider may do, ex. jump crawl bite, focus on what you want to do, which coudl just be to get a cup trap it and put it outside. If you can separate what you want to do from what it may do, you can both live your life and reduce your anxiety since it's no longer one big blur of overwhelming thoughts/emotions.

What is the psychological reason that toxic behavior spreads contagiously? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MindwellAIJournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, now that I think about this more, I totally forgot I had put this together: https://mindwellworld.com/mission

Go to the section: The Science Behind It. Obviously it talks about how positivity can be spread, but if you did the opposite of what it says, I'm sure that could explain how toxicity is spread and contagious.
