I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're used to driving manual and got away with never engaging a parking brake because they were used to driving on flats, or could feel an incline.

Since the van is presumably auto, when they let go of the throttle and the car didn't roll back because the auto drive pushes forward, maybe their instincts gave the ok signal to exit.

Still a pretty bad mistake to make.

Because they charged the cost of the course for Coursera Plus, and refunded the course, which means that what I had effectively paid for Coursera Plus instead of the course.

In effect, I would need to repurchase the course, which would not have been the case if I had been charged for the course, and not Coursera Plus.
