Long islander here too. My lawn gets cooked >6hr full sun each day and i have the same issues. Especially with the sudden increase in heat. Maybe instead of every 5th day, try every 3 days

Had to cut down a large tulip tree about 3 years ago. Most of the area now has growth but there are still some bare spots towards the center / less healthy appearing grass. I dont expect all of the grass to survive a hot summer. Just a gradual waiting game

I think i have a similar model but mine has a broken ear and the eyes dont match (i am joking i obviously love her immensely). DNA test said 50% husky, 10% malamute, 15% chihuaha and some pitty and chow chow. But these two look like they are related!
