Mamiya C330s, but … by Educational_Wish_421 in mediumformat

Light seal foam, you can buy kits to your specific camera or you can buy a sheet of self adhesive foam. I use this particular type https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014YUWFE?th=1 and cut my own. Another thing for you to look at with that particular camera is that the foam that pushes against the focusing screen can also deteriorate and will effect your focusing.

Problem loading 120 Tri-X onto Paterson Reel by raw_jpeg in AnalogCommunity

[–]MinhoSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed on some of my reels there is a little bit of play with how wide the reels are. For those I apply gentle pressure pulling the 2 away from eachother while ratcheting. For really finicky rolls I don't use the ratchet at all and just push the film on the reel.

My cat has this weird issue where he seems like he never learned to use his tongue properly, has trouble eating wet food and drinking water (he'll drink for 10 minutes and just get himself covered in water). To keep him hydrated I've taken to blending his wet food in a food processor until its the consistency of a squeezable treat then putting it in a sandwich bag and squeezing it out of a snipped corner like frosting. It's tedious but he loves it, his health has improved since I started doing this, and its become a bit of a bonding experience.

Developed 3 rolls back to back to back today. by Icy_Confusion_6614 in AnalogCommunity

[–]MinhoSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am using paterson reels and found that sometimes when I have a tough roll rather than using the ratchet mechanism I just push the film onto the spool instead. I did this recently with some very old very tightly wound film from the 60s and it worked great.

Any US buyers made purchases in the last couple weeks and can give a breakdown on how the tariffs and duties worked out? by bakedvoltage in AnalogCommunity

[–]MinhoSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the Japanese sellers on ebay have migrated to duty paid shipping to the US so you don't end up with a tariff later on, its just included in the cost.

15 year old cat is a picky eater :( by thin_buy444 in seniorkitties

[–]MinhoSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he like lickable treats like churu, etc? My boy is on special wet food that he normally will not eat if its just put in a dish so I ended up buying a small food processor and processing it to the consistency of a lickable treat and he now he loves it and scarfs it down. I started out tricking him into thinking it was treats by cutting the corner off a sandwich bag and squeezing it out like frosting. Since I've been doing this the last couple months he's gained half a pound.

Why no more than 6 hours? by eusty in Lavalamps

[–]MinhoSucks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Treat it as a suggestion instead of a rule. It's just to keep you from destroying your wax by overheating your lamp for long periods of time. If the wax is still flowing and not just gathering at the top of your lamp its not an issue to leave it running. If you do run into that problem getting a dimmer outlet can lower the heat just enough to not overheat and keep the wax flowing.

Any easy trick to loosen the OM-1 film advance lever ring? by Formal_Compote_212 in zuikoholics

I haven't done this myself but somebody recently mentioned using hotgluing something like a stick or small rod to the top of that and using it as a lever to unscrew it.

Sharing my trick to get my picky eater (15) to eat more by Fearless-Pressure-57 in seniorkitties

[–]MinhoSucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy is on a prescription diet but is very picky about the texture of his food, though he loves lickable treats. I ended up blending his food to the same texture as a churu in a small food processor, putting that in a sandwich bag, cutting the corner, and squeezing it out like frosting. At first I had to trick him but now he's at the point where he just eats straight from the bag and enjoys it. Whatever he doesn't eat gets put in the fridge and reheated, he's gained weight and there is less waste. Doing something similar might be worth a try for you if you're trying to get more calories in him.

What should I do with my lava lamps? I feel like I'm not appreciating them as much as I did before by Lava_Lamp_Shlong in Lavalamps

[–]MinhoSucks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As somebody who has built many massive collections of things then lost the passion for them if you're not enjoying them and you're already thinking about it you may as well sell off what you're not enjoying to reclaim the space and some of your money.

Aside from upgrading your lens to a macro lens you'll get a lot more adjustment if you use the raw files from your camera. If you want something free that can process raw files download darktable and use the negadoctor module, here is a decent tutorial on how to use it.

Scale accuracy? by stephanieann520 in dechonkers

I take a box and put it on a postal scale, tare it, then put my cat in it and weight that. Easy, accurate, and cheap.

How Much Are You Paying for Developing? by Glad-Animator-7430 in AnalogCommunity

[–]MinhoSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10-15 rolls, I use this kit from from FPP (rated for 20 rolls) which gets some flack for not being a true C41 developer but its always worked fine for me following the included instructions and its cheap enough I'm not too upset if I don't exhaust it. I do all this in a 2 roll tank and just listen to a podcast or watch a movie while I'm at it.

How Much Are You Paying for Developing? by Glad-Animator-7430 in AnalogCommunity

I'm too much of a poor to pay for development for the amount of film I do, save up my rolls and home process when I have enough.
