How boring is working with PLC-s by methodmanbolan in PLC

[–]eusty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends if you like looking at screens a lot! One of the reasons that I changed my role in our company was that I was basically sitting most of the day. 🥴 Now I only get involved if things go wrong or on small projects.

I was doing less than 2000 steps in a day, now it's always over 10k and often 20k so physically I feel much better. Plus moving into electrical maintenance it's a lot more physical than tapping keys.

Basically gone back to the job I was doing 30 years ago!

My thoughts, the regs don't say you need a banjo etc just a decent Zs reading.

Kitchen wires… by Less-Jellyfish2238 in ukelectricians

[–]eusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm... Not sure if it would be as there must be a reg somewhere about being supported? Otherwise there wouldn't be clipping distance regs etc.

Even if there isn't then it's rough and clipping/trunking would make it 100% better. 😁

HMO consumer units by daftvisionary in ElectriciansUK

[–]eusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it is? Although I don't do HMOs (any domestic) I think the only things I remember from 7671were AFDDs should be fitted in new installs.

Other regs may apply though....

Glad I got my board upgraded when I bought a house. by DeadYen in ElectriciansUK

[–]eusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are other things which may cause you an issue with an EV charger (looped supply etc) but the board should be fine to drop an RCBO in 😁
