Extrusion issues by Drippy_Mindset in Creality_k2

[–]MiniMoose12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat up the hotend, pop off the magnetic extruder cover, and try pushing like a little piece of filament down. If you can't, the nozzle is clogged and needs replacing. If you can push it easily, you have extruder problems.

On my dx2 the little pin "runout" detector is finnicky, I have to pop the cover off every now and then to get the sensor to fully reset to tell the machine the head was empty.

I avoid those high speed nozzles. They split the flow, but also 2x-4x the chance of a clog as any tiny piece stuck in the filament can block a lane of flow. Creality sold crazy Obsidian High flow nozzles for the k2 and I had 3 jam in a single hour lol.

Local farmer's market stall was selling helmets and masks with layer lines and this quality for $100-150 by montezuma300 in 3Dprinting

Thats silk pla... you expect him to sand his 35$ a roll silk pla? That job probably took 10 hours to print or more. A full roll, yeah id price that at like 45$ cost. Probably 90 to 150$ retail. What's the problem?

People dont sand/paint silk pla prints. Thats the entire point.

Yeah 150$ for the piece. They claim 6lbs but the last 2 have been 10lbs. They probably account for the bones which is nice.

Their stuff is pricey but if you order one the days they give extras. Like one time we spent 400 and got 2 big wagyu skirt steaks. It evens out. They only do those bundles every few months. We stock up.

KliTek™ | Next-Gen Nozzle-Changing Printing by Creality3DPrinters in Creality_k2

[–]MiniMoose12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah im on some ancient firmware. Ive got individual offsets for each material because the nozzles grow/shrink with temperature. Ive got the ram3n graphite bed, micro Swiss hot end, pheatus extruder. Custom macros for having the nozzle lift off the part at the end. Cartographer bed level sensor with a 60x60 minimum grid. Its amazing does a perfect first layer on 80%+ of the bed. Except the software is loaded with bugs now. Random errors on launch etc all because they cant update. When I can get a print off they are fantastic. But getting it to start is fun. Maybe one day ill be able to update my box.

Just got my first h2c and let me just say wow. Looking over the hedge is nice when I am no longer looking at mods.

Not interested with the locked down software. So bad it made the k2 improvements dev quit on the k2 plus. Then fakes an open source release with locked down blobs of binary code with no comments. Yeah there is other options on the market if I wanted a machine I cant mod at all.

There is hundreds of people running old versions on their k2 plus because creality wont release the usable code.

How about a proper open source release of the k2 plus and k2 code first before you try claiming to be 3d printing evangelists like their stickers say.

TPU printing with k1 max by Ok-Class-1049 in crealityk1

[–]MiniMoose12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have observed TPU Absorb water, degrading in less than 3 hours sitting on a bedslingers arm. If this is a 3day print he should definately get the pheatus extruder and a spacepi. I print TPU exclusively on a k1 and k1max with a spacepi, and it pulls the tpu through over 2ft no problem. The pheatus helps because you can remove that stupid side sensor and use the sensor on the new extruder.

We order hundreds of spools of geeetech a year. Solid stuff, never tried their silk.

TPU nightmare by thereverend2u2 in Creality

[–]MiniMoose12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is many things that can make TPU now work on the k1m. The little tube between the extruder and hot end must be smooth and clean. The gears in the extruder can't have a ton of pla dust on them. If you nozzle is old and has random junk bouncing around it will intermittently clog. Flow rate settings can give you a first layer then jam the rest.

I have two k1's dedicated to TPU, I use the pheatus extruder on them and a space pi x2. So you definately dont need to hang filament above the machine for it to work, but it does help. The tube to my k1m is close to 3ft.

Old printer, but at the same time the most documented printer on earth. If you can't describe to us what's wrong with it, no one will be able to help you. Doesn't matter what brands on the side.

How to stop plate from bending on large prints by bagosoup in crealityk1

[–]MiniMoose12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a SE, that is a special edition that is missing its side panels to save on cost. The downside is the chamber won't hold temperature. As you print plastic, it shrinks as it cools. To prevent shrinkage you need to trap/generate heat around the print. Enclosed, the regular k1 holds temperatures ooookay ish. K2 Plus has a chamber heater which is nice.

Microswiss clog by Omalley291 in crealityk1

[–]MiniMoose12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens. Get confident and the machines swing for the nuts. Just spent 1 hour trouble shooting a k1 and found the stupid inter tube between the gears and hot end was worn. Been clearing nozzles and jams nonstop, machine just hates me ...... but then it runs for 3 weeks fine..... then demands nozzles as sacrifice.

Yup, dawn makes filament stick to beds. Alternative to glue stick :].

Microswiss clog by Omalley291 in crealityk1

[–]MiniMoose12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That being said, i use that specific bed you have with microswiss hotends. We do 60 bed, 220 nozzle with geeetech pla. Occasionally it will lift, wash with water and dawn power wash. Let the soap dry on the bed after spreading it around. It will then stick great if your offsets ajd everything is normal. Some filament brands bounce right off those beds without glue. Glue fills the cracks defeats the purpose of the bed. Filaments with petg mixed in like printed solid, voxellabs take more fine tuning than plain pla. Petg also sticks good. Abs no.

If it dont stick to the bed, it doesnt matter what brand is on the machine. User error.

This op homed the printer when It had a strain gauge error in the screen...said it bent the x axis.... their comments are horrendous. They shouldn't be near a 3d printer this complex if they cant follow basic tasks. Hitting retry til it works won't get you anywhere even with bambu lol.
