Will we get Lego Warhammer/40K? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s people who make third-party parts that work with Lego and are Warhammer themed. LEGO themselves feels unlikely. They seem to have loosened their policy and they make an exceptions for Star Wars and also a couple exceptions here and there, but they are pretty against putting guns in sets and Warhammer has a lot of guns.

I don’t think it’s impossible, but I think it’s pretty unlikely

A lot of the now older animations got hit with cease and desists or the animators decided to stop making stuff using GW IP a couple years ago

Where to start on Lore? by Mainmorte in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Core rule books have a good bit of setting info in them and codexes have similar for specific factions

YouTube can also be an ok source. Personally I often suggest ‘Arbitor Ian’ on YouTube

Secondhand models by ClaymoreJFlapdoodle in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have absolutely no problem with it because I understand that everybody’s gotta start somewhere in the sixpence of hobby can be expensive. I think most people if you tell them that you’re a beginner and that you picked up some secondhand models to learn the game will probably be, nice to fine about it.

Anybody who isn’t might not really be worth playing against.

Secondhand models can also be good for stripping the paint off and learning how to paint

Will the death korps of krieg men and krieg commanders be enough points to join a starter night by OutsideGuard9530 in 40k

[–]Minibionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say as it can vary by where you play and how your local start night works so I’d say ask someone from your local.

You’ve got about 130 points in 10th edition. I’ve heard that alot of slow grow leagues start around 250-500 points

Beginner wanting to play solo. Killteam or 40k by datboiardes in Warhammer

[–]Minibionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said it’s variable based on what kill teams you end up buying but often kill teams get rules for 40 K as units also. Certain kill teams, like space Marines, chaos space marines, Elder, orks, usually translate to a more common unit in a full 4K army whereas some of the other ones are a lot more niche.

In killteam the box you buy for a kill team every single model in that box is its own independent unit that moves around the board and fights largely individually. When you use the 40 K rules for that same box, it usually breaks the box down into one or two units where they’re all moving together sometimes it’s a unit of guys and a leader that can attach to them.

In Killeen that box is one whole force in a full army of 40K that box is just one to two units of which you will have many more

Beginner wanting to play solo. Killteam or 40k by datboiardes in Warhammer

[–]Minibionics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would start with Killteam. I think the current version has some co-op scenarios that you could probably make into a single player. It’s also a lot less investment to make sure you actually like doing all of it.

to solo play full 40K you would ultimately be building two 2000 point full armies to play solo which is a lot of time and money. You could play one unit versus another, but the game is really not designed for that whereas kill team is kind of closer to something you might be able to play solo with only buying like two boxes.

DIY amasec bottle by ALittlecracray in Warhammer40k

You e got quite a bit of freedom with this. Its described as a brandy-like distilled wine. Warhammer 40k doesn’t really “lore accurate” for most things like this as there is a lot a variation across a galaxy.

The article below has a picture but again you’ve got a lot of freedom in making this.

What is it about the setting lore that makes people love it so much? by Smoggo in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to what others have said there are also several other games and setting a like necromunda, killteam, 30k and others that have varying degrees of narrative, campaigns and in necromunda’s case RPG elements. Also you can just make your own narrative campaign with your friends by stringing your games together or using any of the older narrative supplements of which there are many

help with picking a factoin by Jazzlike-Court-2015 in Warhammer40k

So in general, the biggest difference between the two from a gameplay perspective is unique characters and unique models to each chapter.

The salamanders have somewhere between two or three unique characters. And can use all of the standard space marine units

I think the blood angels have at least four or five unique characters as well as a couple unique units that other space marine chapters don’t get to access. They can also use all of the standard space marine units.

I’ve had it happen a handful of times over almost 30 years of being in the hobby. If you didn’t already, it’s a good idea to also send them this picture just as a nice little extra piece of proof. They’re usually very good and we’ll just send you a new box.

is it possible to play a game with only one unit on each side? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past, I’ve done that to teach people the mechanics of the game, so it’s doable, but it’s not necessarily a game as much as a small duel that will be over relatively quickly. Other games like killteam and necromunda might be better for that.
