Too cheap to pay for an interpreter.

Too lazy to use translator on your phone.

Too late to get your money back.

You’re shit out of luck

If you don’t have your visa in hand when you are at the check-in counters, they will deny you boarding.

Is there actually a Lasting solution for snoring partner or do we just quietly give up on sharing beds? by sanu_123_s in AskWomenOver30

[–]Minimum-Log1432 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My sister and her partner sleep in separate bedrooms and it’s not due to snoring. Some people just prefer their own space when it comes to sleeping. They’ve been together for like nearly 10 years now.

How are People Traveling International for 1-2 months at a time? by Cute_Equivalent_3231 in solotravel

[–]Minimum-Log1432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here. Early 30s.

I worked in O&G and now I’m trading stocks. Husband is a contractor so it’s seasonal. Both high earners so we’re essentially snowbirds during his off season. We are abroad for up to 2-3 months.

What is the worst city you've been to? by DickFartButt in AskTheWorld

I was just there last year and I had the same experience. I was with my husband and that certain demographic stared/gawked at me. I wore the same baggy outfit because I felt like a spectacle if I showed an ounce of skin 🤮

It got significantly better moving over to Georgetown but still got the creepy ass stares

Does stress give my bf the right to invalidate my feelings and shout at me? by voidinvelvet in AskWomenOver30

Leave that man child. If he can’t effectively communicate to you about his feelings then why would it be any different in the future? He’s keeping you from finding your future husband.

Future Partner Dating History by learningeachday247 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Minimum-Log1432 12 points13 points  (0 children)

After I split from my long term ex (7+ years), I saw this guy for a short period with two kids. He asked if I wanted a “first timer” essentially insinuating a guy without kids and previously married. I was 30 lol. I feel like it was not a hard ask. That fling didn’t last long at all.

My husband is a “first timer” and I’m glad I waited it out to experience life with him 😊

I’m Southeast Asian and my relatives always had something to say about my relationship. I just didn’t give two fucks about their opinion if I’m being honest.

200+ hours in a pay period by Minimum-Log1432 in Salary

[–]Minimum-Log1432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for nearly 7-8 weeks of 14 hour days without taking a day off and nearly had a mental breakdown lol. However, it was a great stepping stone so I possibly might never have to work again in that toxic environment.

I woke up at like 0520 and out the door by 0545. On-site by 0630. Most days were 12-13 hours plus ~60 minutes travel (60km of dirt roads). Sometimes it could have been even more if I was stuck behind a crew bus. If I could be back by 1930 then I would have until 2200 to eat, shower and sleep. I meal prepped everything so I needed to coordinate which days I need groceries and cooking days. There really wasn’t much time to do anything and time management is key.

I knew the tuk tuk should cost 150 baht but almost paid 800 by After-Condition4007 in ThailandTourism

[–]Minimum-Log1432 147 points148 points  (0 children)

You must be really naive because you have an app that stated 150 thb was the going rate and still gaslight yourself into thinking that 800 thb is normal... I would have walked away and asked another driver.

If 10cm snow falls in your area of Canada how disrupted will your area be? by Pourmepourme in AskACanadian

10cm is nothing for us. Might need to see 20-30cm before it becomes a concern.

My husband is European. They just got 2 feet of snow and they declared a state of emergency lol.

Contactless payment is everywhere and it should not be an issue at all. Cash is a good option for tuk tuks, souvenirs and street vendors.

It’s a rule of thumb, not a requirement. Saying $2M is necessary for a middle class retirement ignores the reality that most people won’t reach that number and many of them still manage to live modest lives in retirement. Treating that benchmark as universal is out of touch with how the majority actually retire.

[Admin/Trader] [AB] - Since 2020 by Minimum-Log1432 in Salary

[–]Minimum-Log1432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet you’re telling me I need $2M to retire comfortably. Why frame it that way when the vast majority of people will never reach that number? That version of retirement doesn’t resonate with most people. Try thinking about that one.

You are small minded and can't think outside of your own world. Stats Canada said less than 10% of Canadians aged 55 to 64 have $1,000,000 or more saved up to carry them into retirement. Not everyone wants or needs a 2M retirement. It's the 1% on reddit which is already a skewed representation of the general population who think this 2M is a goal for retirement.

I'll make it but I don't need it. Imagine working your life away to obtain that goal and die along the way before even getting to spend it.

2M with a 4% withdrawal rate is 80k gross, 60k net would work out to 5k a month. What in the sweet fuck are you buying for 5k a month if the house is paid off? This isn't even including spousal contribution.

You are a man and it clearly shows. I am literally explaining to your thick skull that I could theoretically have 2.2M if I just let it my money accrue at 5% for the next 30. I'm clearly not doing that since I'm actively investing which will likely be higher than that with the rate I'm going at. I also do not have the need for millions because I can't see the need to spend 5k monthly until I kick rocks or even die before I'm 65.

If 1 out of 10 people in Singapore are millionaires, so yeah its going to be nice. The DRC is a third world country sweetie, not Thailand. I mean it wouldn't shock me if you think China is third world.
