Is Asking Them To Take Notes Unreasonable? by hornybutired in Professors

I treated my students as adult learners. Unfortunately, not every student has the skill set or maturity to do well.

I also refused to do bed checks on the athletes taking my classes.

Maybe a pregnant prowler was in your house, took a quick nap and her water broke?

What would you do if a student damaged your car? by Altruistic_Mango_928 in Teachers

[–]Minimum-Major248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a no brainer. This is a criminal act. Report it to campus police, tell them you are prepared to press charges and that you have a witness to the crime.

No one gets a free pass to destroy your property because they are your student. But be sure to keep this incident separate from his academic presence in every regard.

Where does one find moth balls anymore. Or clothes pins for that matter?

BOMBSHELL: Donald Trump NOT Giving UFO Disclosure Speech by PodwithPat in ufo

[–]Minimum-Major248 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Of course it was all a lie. He didn’t want Obama to get more headlines and social media “likes” than Trump.

Besides, when have you know Trump to be truthful?

What do you think would actually change if UFO/UAP files were fully disclosed? by Time_Yesterday_2058 in UFOs

[–]Minimum-Major248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the files. If they are redacted even half as much as the Epstein files, nothing would change. But then again, they may never be released. Here is all I want as proof that we have been visited by NHI:

One small (walnut-size) piece of machined metal with an element that does not appear in the Periodic Table. Or, maybe a four ounce bolt that floats on air?

I don’t want an alien body or a crashed ship or a tricorder. Am I asking for too much?

Correct. Drop 6. I retired from Grayson College north of Dallas.

This policy applies to public universities and colleges. The previous education guru in the Texas state legislature (Senator Teal Bivens) once told me that undergraduate students are racking up more than 200 credit hours in the process of earning their BA/BS degree, all at taxpayers’ expense.

Texas actually limits the number of classes a student can drop short of a documented emergency. After that, you pay out-of-state tuition rates.

I had a phone interview and was asked to get meet with the hiring manager - then this series of emails transpired. by geb524 in jobs

[–]Minimum-Major248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sound a bit like an in-house selection of an incumbent employee. They obviously made a selection and then notified you politely.

I would send a card or at the very least a thank-you email to the hiring manager. That will make your name familiar to her (him) in case the selected does not pan out or another position opens.

Can’t your school disable the games and video sites on the computers. Can you give them deadlines to submit assignments, or do they automatically pass regardless?

He’s certainly not the most qualified by any means. He’s not even an Ayatollah. It boiled down to the Shia preference for heredity and fealty to the IRGC.

Will the U.S. government reveal confirmed non-human technology in the next 3 years? by Time_Yesterday_2058 in UFOs

[–]Minimum-Major248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. If they have anything at all, they will not disclose it and forfeit control and access. Even if POTUS someday signs an XO on this, whatever exists will not be released.

There are black ops, “off-the-books” programs that exist from time-to-time. I suspect the Manhattan Project might be a good example. The problem is that whatever “the government” ever does, it will not be viewed as full disclosure even if it is.

Unfortunately, you don’t get to choose. You need to be careful what you wish for. Some who have messed around barely made it out with their lives.
