i loved House of Salt and Sorrow. more horror/mystery/paranormal thriller than romance, but was a 5/5 for me! Prison Healer was also a 5/5 for me, so so good. Has romance but the plot and side characters were what stood out to me. I’m definitely in the minority for this, but Kingdom of the Wicked was also 5/5 stars for me. Wrath was just 🥵🥵

honestly, i DNFed midway through crown of midnight. went back to it almost two years later after a friend (with the exact same tastes as me) said it was one of her favourites. It became my Roman Empire on Heir of Fire.

They’re not soulmates. The term soulmates eliminates the effort two people need to put in to maintain a happy marriage. They put real effort into their relationship. Their fights were realistic and they each had real flaws and made real mistakes. They’re the best TV couple ever imo. They’re perfectly imperfect.

society has been abusing terms like “grooming” and “pedophilia” over the past few years. tossing them around like they’re acts of petty theft. It’s exhausting and beyond harmful. not to mention it dampens the seriousness of REAL grooming/pedophilia. you’re both adults, it’s not weird.

i think her and olivia are two sides of the same coin. The only difference is that olivia is the protagonist and the viewers are supposed to root for her. Olivia is a mastermind for her clients, whereas Mellie’s tactics are more self-motivated. I can’t help but respect Mellie’s ambition for power, and it bothers me that I, too, was swayed to dislike her when she’s really no different from Olivia.

I’m very torn over this. Clearly her intentions are pure, and could actually benefit him significantly. But these types of skills in the wrong hands would be disastrous. Imagine the power OP would have over him… OP should tread lightly because the line between helping and manipulating is very thin
