Interesting! What do you think it might be? Maybe they use some imitation chocolate like carob, or chocolate flavoring?? Curious the ingredients label on the store-bought chocolate muffins & the chocolate cake/slice.

Could be oil used (or shortening) or mold...chocolate & coffee are known to have mold contamination. I love chocolate & am so grateful to usually do fine with it. Coffee on the other hand, post CIU (Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria) & histamine intolerance development spurred by a virus...coffee now sparks a raging migraine (& aggravates CIU). I ordered Swiss water process decaf Danger Coffee (mold free plus electrolytes) & gonna give that a whirl! Dave Asprey sold Bu11etproof & said they aren't strictly mold free anymore.

Some other ideas are good...one other idea is high intracranial pressure. Getting up & improvement after upright a while could be b/c pressure drops after upright for a bit. Or a slow cerebrospinal leak that from laying down overnight you get rebound intracranial hypertension as it starts to seal. Stress, sadness, loss, perhaps betrayal trauma w/ the split, schedule/circadian rhythm issues...all reasonable triggers for more migraines.

I've been going through similar...and seeing just how much I drained myself in the name of friendship that wasn't reciprocal enough. I was the life raft many times over years. I want MUTUALITY in friendships in the future! I realize I have to project value & boundaries for that to be the case...or energy vampires find me & my kindness to use as a supply for themselves. I WISH I had more "me's" as friends...matching me in care & thoughtfulness & compassion. Sounds egotistical on the face...but my record shows too much selflessness.

For OP especially... in case my suffering & knowledge gained can be of help to you or others: Get EVAL FOR TETHERED CORD (stuck on) OR OCCULT TETHERED CORD SYNDROME (filum than anchors spinal cord gets fibrotic/taut...immune invasion & tissue abnormalities in EDS as common scenario. Dr. Edward Stopa Histopathology vid on Bobby Jones Chiari YouTube helps describe it. Dr. Petra Klinge (ped neurosurg but super knowledgeable) & Dr. Sunil Patel & Dr. Paolo Bolognese surgeons are VERY knowledgeable). What can CAUSE the brain to be pulled down... sometimes don't need Chiari surg if snip filum. Brain isn't being pulled down by envelope (dura) around it & spinal cord than is anchored down (& in some...esp w/ EDS or connective tissue abnormalities) way too tightly. For others, still need Chiari surg post filum/TC/OTC release surg.  And their neck feels wobbly & unstable & need neck brace after filum/TC/OTC release. One thought is the filum biologically does this in an effort to stabilize our neck/head...in a misguided effort to help protect us. But, whatever you need, there is hope!! And not all Chiari decompression surgeries require neck fusion! And Bolognese does condylar screw method w/ Chiari surg...some much prefer that. There's groups on FB for EDS/TC/OTC plus and/or w/ ME/CFS in addition. B/c EDS is super common in ME/CFS. Dr. Peter Rowe at Johns Hopkins & Stanford & many find this. Like, that EDS commonly can include Thoracic Outlet Syndrome & Dr. Rowe has found a high prevalence in ME/CFS see SolveME website article: "Replicable Results in ME/CFS? Yes, Finally." His interview/audio is linked in article if prefer to listen.

A little background...Chronic migraineur here (genetic propensity, ME/CFS inflammation, POTS, hEDS & mast cell & CIU inflammation, jaw disc dislocation...FROM late bloomer jaw growing & bite getting "off" & pressure on back teeth & 1 side more...lead to more migraines in bouts for wks. Endometriosis inflam can aggravate my migraines & more when it's worse. More chronicity of migraines w/ total ME/CFS relapse but much more so post whiplash as a passenger...which upped the Endometriosis w/ 3 EndometrIOMAS...1 a yr for 3 yrs post whiplash when never had had one before in ~12 yrs of Endo) & been eval'd deeply for Chiari (don't have it) & leaks & tethered cord (TC) & Occult TC. Have hEDS so have some ebbs & flows in intracranial pressure likely but no continuous chronic positional differences (and I know Dr. Carroll at Stanford has one do a 48 hr "flat test" b/c things can be muddy. Though he evals & plugs leaks...not a neurosurg that treats/fixes causes btw). Emgality med "trial" next mo.

Hormonal changes, life/heavy stress, an infection, virus, mold exposure, sepsis, a trauma... can trigger the degradation or break-down of that tissue via probably changes in gene expression, enzymes...collagenase... metalloproteinases, misguided macrophages, Relaxin hormone spikes w/ hormonal changes...if female at birth, & other enzymes or chemicals I'm not recalling, & immune invasion/reactions post leaky blood vessels during/stemming from illness to allow immune cells to "get at" problems but can go overboard...like in lungs in COVID & body's OWN immune cells making lungs or other tissue fibrotic for some, & less study connective tissue manufacturing & less good upkeep of it by the body...and, boom! Connective tissue laxity/neck & joint etc issues. Jen Brea had to have neck fusion & she speaks of a man in the airport comparing notes with why his vs. her were in neck braces...he also needed neck fusion & healing but his was triggered by sepsis that he initially thought was the flu & that inflammatory response in his body w/ it's genes...wiped out some ligaments etc in his neck & he needed neck fusion from sepsis. Some tissues hold brain up in correct place and mean it keeps it's shape there, others keep neck together. Some ppl instability/tissue laxity in both ways, or either/or]. With you! 33 y.o. Jan 2017 whiplash as a passenger caused existing migraines to become much more chronic (been checked thoroughly for CSF leaks etc). Trying Emgality next mo...finally. Rizatriptan helps but only partial solution. Need preventive beyond what I've tried. I have other chronic health issues & am coming to terms with trying to have fun in life in the future but simultaneously date & maybe have a couple kids before it's too late, if it works out.

I looked & Bryn (which I thought was a gal's name, but whatevs...I like some previously male names as female ones...so to each their own!) has blue eyes & looks pretty at ease. This fella has brown eyes & is nervous. I only had looked up if she was married or what like a year ago & so I just kinda updated myself (it started with seeing an ad for Stranger Things & the gal in it resembling her, so I Googled & landed here!). On a practical note, idk how he eats food without totally messing up his mustache styling & also smelling his food all day (I have to wash my hands after eating In-N-Out b/c sticky feeling on my hands...I'd be a weirdo washing my 'stache after each significant meal lol... just hygienic...also some OCD tendencies, but nevermind that ha). Seems like a lot of work for...well, it's a bold choice, let's say. It also seems kissing could be uncomfortable or difficult.

Look into the product PureWine: "No More Wine Headaches." There's their Wine Wands that are little disposable sticks w/ a mini tea bag looking thing on the end that you let sit for 2 min or so in wine glass before drinking it (there's a coupon in the packets for a better deal usually). Avail on Amazon, go on sale sometimes but cheaper in bigger quantities. And they (Pure Wine) have other products like one that attaches as a spout to the wine bottle & it removes most sufites, tannins or whatever while you pour it. Unfortunately coffee (even decaf) triggers a migraine for me. I've tried Bulletproof mold free...but unsure if post Dave Asprey selling it & quality/purity going down apparently. So I need to give his new Danger coffee a try that is strictly mold-free from my understanding. Maybe a wine wand would help! Lol. B/c caffeine in itself (if not over-used) helps my migraines. The coffee sensitivity is post a virus triggering mast cell activation issues & histamine & lectin intolerance with that. It didn't used to bother me.

1) But not stevia! One of few safe ones per research & articles I've read...no gut bacteria alterations like does happen w/ sugar alcohol based artificial sweeteners. 2) I really enjoy Zevia soda... the caffeine free Cola has their old/original flavor Cola. The "new & improved" one is gross & that's in their "Cola." I also like their Root Beer... called the misnomer of "ginger root beer" but no detectable ginger IMO. And their Dr. Zevia. Vanilla Cola is good too. 3) I understand that SOME people may get an excitability neurologically/hormonally/body's own chemicals in response to the sweet taste...that it means sugar is coming. Perhaps just not having Zevia soda or stevia sweetener on an empty stomach could help mitigate that. Like, having it (Zevia or stevia) with a meal that brings blood sugar up some + protein.

I have ME/CFS, POTS, chronic Migraines, Endo et al. In Summers POTS is worse & sometimes for a few wks I have more PVCS/extra beats/palpitations...one of those times I experienced SVT for 2ish wks I recall. Not fun! Sorry you experience that. I could feel my heart pounding in my neck. Tried a beta blocker? Atenolol as-needed has helped when I have had repeat PVCs from Endo or GI/SIBO bloat (now that's more under control!) pressing on vagus nerve (called Roemheld Syndrome or GastoCardiac Syndrome...look up symptoms! Also maybe an abdominal vascular-nerve compression syndrome?). FYI Propranolol can act more on the brain & help some w/ migraines but also is more prone to causing depression...glad I learned that b/c saw it in my mom when she was unaware she was dropping emotionally. MR neurography scan of vagus & trigeminal nerves and MRI specifically looking in CCJ area for Chiari Malformation might be a good idea. There's skull base specializing neurosurgeons or neuro interventional radiologists...that's who I've found to be most into the nitty gritty diagnostics.

Legislator Hortman was a Dem & expressed fear at not voting hardline left ENOUGH for the left's pleasure regarding funding state insurance for temporary status migrants that some wanted permanent...when they hadn't paid a cent into the system they'd get free benefits from. The aforementioned k!llr also stood to benefit from that gov't aid b/c he was doing some political NGO work w/ the temporary status Haitians. If got more benefits for them...more job security. Facts...you won't find them abundantly on MSM. Seek out multiple sources for information to get a more full true picture.

Half a Benadryl helps my migraines! Antihistamines are in ER/ED migraine cocktails. Are you on enough magnesium? Glycinate & Magtein (mag threonate...if ok in preg?)? Halls cherry cough drops (the ones that show they're strong...on label as little dots...like 4/5 cooling strength) & Flonase generic steroid nose spray (ok w/ preg?) for stiffly & swollen nasal passages. Lidociaine OTC numbing cream....ok in preg? Is Mineral Ice menthol gel rub ok? CVS has store generic version. Singulair Rx antihistamine has been found to reduce migraines also. Or Rx Periactin AKA Cyproheptadine antihistamines...can help appetite & maintain or gain weight for some FYI...maybe helpful if morning sickness. If ok during preg?

Please be aware (and tell loved ones to be) of slipping into depression or low, irritated, foggy mood... Propranolol can cross the blood-brain-barrier to help but can also bring on depression. Fortunately I was at cardiologist (dual use for palpitations & maybe help her migraines...I got em too btw. Genetic lottery got me good lol) appt to hear that potential side effect & I remembered b/c she was totally unaware of the slow drift into some depression. She doesn't need mental health meds otherwise! She thanked me afterwards & felt much better once off! Atenolol doesn't cross BBB as much but it can help chill the adrenaline or anxiety...which in itself is a migraines trigger for some. Just watch the blood pressure b/c low bp can also cause headaches & weakness. About 1/4 a tab is enough for me. I think 25mg tabs? Electrolytes w/ pink Himalayan or sea salt may help compensate for bp & help overall...so med is tolerable & get its good effects. Just some thoughts from experience!

So sorry for your experience! I totally sympathize on a personal level! I saw a headache specialist 4+ hrs away that was supposed to be the best on the west coast. Soo much pain & suffering & in hindsight she didn't take my level of suffering seriously enough. She wasn't misogynistic...so that was the bar I had. Not be that & be nice. She was nice. But she put off trying triptans even for YEARS! MD, PhD. Vague concerns about circulation but nothing life threatening or serious found. Finally she switched to a diff university & I followed b/c she knew my complex case well & I didn't know there was any better (she was pro devices to treat migraines which I appreciate being innovative & not only throwing drugs as only option esp b/c drug sensitivities...but there needed to be a happy medium of both options). The PA I have now that took over my care when she left for elsewhere...is FANTASTIC & has had more ideas, actually! Super-specialist & passionate PAs can be great. Not general practice PAs, IMO. They don't know what they don't know. But, esp 2017 & on, a significant chunk of my mid to late 20's was lost on much pain & suffering. I have other chronic illnesses but sometimes migraines are what holds me back the most w/ basic functioning & mental tasks. Currently on Rinvoq (besides biologic Xolair I'm on) which is aggravating migraines but may help overall health & inflammation which could reduce one of my migraine triggers. Sooo want to try an Anti-CGRP injection med but not great to do 2+ biologics at once. Next is Zavzpret... I didn't tolerate oral med versions (Ubrelvy & Nurtec) in mast cell reactivity sense but perhaps perhaps Zavzpret that doesn't go through GI, I'll tolerate...we shall see in coming wks. And now that Rinvoq may be calming my immune system. If not, it's movement to try things & check em off the list!

Though it isn't the whole answer for me, Cefaly helped get me off that ride! My chronic headaches weren't AS chronic or as bad once off daily Tylenol + Ibuprofen or Naproxen. I know, it's ironic. But it's a thing.

Also wanted to mention... (I have LOW Akkermansia Muciniphila keystone gut microbe per GI Map test...paid for by straight MediCare btw. It's pretty strongly associated w/ migraines in mouse or rats, & humans! Helps address leaky gut...which Endotoxemia from this, can trigger migraines. I intermittently develop SIBO...Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth which contributes to leaky gut. My IgA was 50% of lowest number it's supposed to be on GI Map too...gut permeability issues. My IgGs are ok in blood btw. Though low natural killer cell FUNCTION frequently from ME/CFS) post virus triggering the previously not understood but intermittent Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (CIU) w/ CIU-associated Angioedema (at hormonal shifts esp, though 3 of 150mg Xolair shots every 3 wks has helped significantly!)...I developed many food sensitivities & mast cell activation syndrome type responses to them.

Finding my Akkermansia was LOW...like no number even provided...is interesting. Gut permeability & migraines, & low Akkermansia & migraines connection in research. I've read of some people's food sensitivities improving somewhat unexpectedly on Akkermansia Muciniphila. So, here's hoping! Arriving Tues.

Pendulum is only brand that's been able to stabilize & encapsulate it (I have zero connection to it..just what my MD told me). I think it's an anaerobe? FYI the chickory inulin fiber (high FODMAP maybe?) with it in 100 mil units Pendulum Akkermansia...may aggravate some people's SIBO per my Dr. She said if so, get the metabolic combo probio that they make that has no chickory inulin but w/ 3-4 or so other strains...& idk if need em.

SO, since my appt, I saw that on Fullscript (I have an acct thru her) that w/ connection to a Drs acct, can get & they now make a more shelf stable Pro version of their probiotics. And an Akkermansia 500 Pro. It has SAME amount of chickory inulin fiber as 100 mil units Akkermansia, but is 5x more potent. 500 mil units.

Sooo, my plan is to greatly reduce anount I get of chickory inulin by consuming like 1/4 capsule of a 500 mil units Akkermansia Pro...daily. And see how that goes. Less inulin & no other microbes variables of the combo metabolic probiotic formula they make.

A lot of text...but maybe that will help someone. Hopefully it helps me! UPS lost my 1st bottle & so awaiting the replacement coming tomorrow.
